Review: Budget Exhaust Y-pipe

Review: Budget Exhaust Y-pipe
I'll try and keep this short and to the point.
Where to buy:
http://www.budgetexhaust.com/
Cost: Approx: US$ 173.81 shipped
I bought the 304SS with black finish. It arrived at my doorstep 10 days after I placed the order.
It looked perfect, except for a couple of scratches from shipping. It came wrapped in a bubble wrap with all the necessary gaskets for installation.
Installation:
There was no way to open the stock Y-pipe without a blow torch. WD-40 didn't do jack.
I took it to local performance shop to install. It took them about an hour to do it. Then again, they were distracted by some "Type-R" getting a dyno read-out ( It was 159 wheel HP )
Installation Cost: $60.00
This pipe fit like a glove. The holes for O2 sensors, and mounting bolts aligned PERFECTLY!
I got him to get me a free dyno (nice guy, will not mention name for he could get into trouble).
My Maxima pushed the dynamometer in third gear to read 172.6 wheel HP.
This is with only an Intake and Y-pipe.
Very cool "Hissing" sound when I floor it and push it above 2500rpm. You have to look for that sound since the intake is much louder than the Y-pipe. NO bees-in-a-can sound.
Very happy with this new mod...

Stillen Body Kit (getting painted as I type this...)

Hmmm, it sure looks like you're running some kind of muffler too

2 things first:
(1) Prior to racing we will decide on HOW the race will begin and end, unlike last time...
(2) Start the race from a DEAD STOP, so I can be in first gear...
Cheers!

i also got the budget, fit perfectly, do get a little bit bees in can at high rpm's but people who are lookin for no bees in can, its rilly not that loud at all, so even if it does, who cares you hardly hear it, your exhaust or intake will over power it, i say go with it.

I agree with the 4th gear dyno run. But I have been hearing different dyno's are done in different gears.

As far as I know, Cattman has fitment problems, Stillen is expensive. Warpspeed is the closest thing to Budget, but from some dynos I saw, the gain with Warpspeed was less than that of Budget Y-pipe. Both Cattman & Stillen are close to $250. Warpspeed is around $200. I paid $174 shipped!

I'm interested but want to make sure my wifey isn't going to object to the louder noise. I'd like to hear the Budget pipe with pop charger only before I commit.
Let me know your thoughts. btw, Budget is a close drive for you since you're in Oakville & Budget is in Burlington.

He told me the SS pipe is being priced at Cdn.$275. At the Dynofest in early Feb., Maximamark said he was interested in getting one when Spring comes. We should take poll & go negotiate with Jeff.
