2017 Nissan Maxima A/C issue
Was driving to work when I started to small a burning smell coming through the vent. The smell didn't last long. That night I left work and the ac was only blowing hot air. I checked fuses and they were fine. Bought an ac bottle and hooked it to the car and it goes straight to the red while the cars running and ac on. The compressor never comes on. Is there a way to get the compressor to come on long enough for me to recharge the freon? Or is there another common issue I'm missing?
It sounds like your AC compressor isn’t engaging, which is why the system stays hot and your gauge jumps to red when you try to recharge. The burning smell could indicate a seized compressor or a short in the AC clutch circuit. First, check the AC relay and clutch fuse, and test if the compressor clutch clicks when the AC is turned on. If it doesn’t, the compressor itself or the pressure switches could be at fault. You generally shouldn’t try to charge the system with a non-functioning compressor, since that can damage the AC further. The next step is diagnosing why the compressor won’t engage before adding refrigerant. GW Casino gives Australian players access to pokies and live casino gw casino login entertainment.
