Got my PR CAI today.....

well i got home from class this afternoon and guess what was sitting on my front porch....CAI! i was so happy to finally get it. anyways, i don't have a hole saw yet so i decided to just put on the pipe that replaces the stock resonator and the MAF adapter and megaflow filter (which btw looks wicked as he11). first thing i noticed was GRRRRRRRRRRRR it friggin loud as **** now and god i love it! i notice a better pull from about 2-2.5k and up and its really easy to make my tires break loose if i mash it while i'm already doing 10 or 20 mph. overall, i love it and i may leave it like this until it starts getting hot outside again, then i will put the rest of the piping on. btw, i gotta question, should i get the 3.5in hole saw? or the 3.25in?

Trevor

p.s. my b-day was saturday and if any of you reading this are in my area, i DEFINATELY reccomend the Million Dollar Fantasy Ranch

go with a 3.5" hole saw, this way you have a little more room to work with, in case the hole isnt in the exact spot it should be

Soon2BMaxed: was your CAI the silver one? Im still waiting for mine

To everybody- who here used a 3.25 hole saw? I already bought a 3.25 so I dont want to go get another one. My question is- will the pipe fit even with the edge guard material installed? or will it be too tight to fit the pipe?

It'll fit fine with the 3.25" but actually using a 3.5" sounds like a good idea - wish I would have thought about that when I installed mine.

a 3.25 would be fine, i think place racing actually has 3.25 in the directions, but a 3.5 is good because you have a little room for error with cutting it in the precise spot... just make sure you do a good job of lining it up

yeah i had a "ghetto" intake that consisted of mounting a k&n cone filter to the MAF but that didn't work that well so my g/f got me the cai for x-mas (yes i just now got it) i fixed my MAF awhile back by soldering the 3 prongs inside of it by using your advice (thanks!) and yes the CAI is the silver one. i think i will use the 3.25 inch hole because i already have enough things on my car that rattle. i really don't want to go buy a hole saw just because its 30 friggin' bucks for something i will probably never use again, so i'm gonna see if someone i know has one already.

ahh i see, i did have someone with one come down here and help me, dont know the size bc of it, but what may help you: the saw has a bit in the middle and a circular blade on the outside, well we went through the metal, but the inner bit would get stuck and wouldnt let the thing turn, so we pulled it out and took a metal file to the inner hole and it worked fine after that, just giving yall the heads up

another queston to everyone that istalled the cai. I just put mine on and I was wondering, can you all move the pipe after its installed? what I means it like can you grap the pipe and if you pulled on it, does yours move? Mine is rock solid for some reason almost like its one solid pipe.

why dont' you just leave it like the way it is and not drill the hole and add the extra piping?

it seems to be that most people think that your current setup will give the most power

yo austin WHASSSUP? dude, i friggin' told u about goin' to the ranch like a month and a half ago and you said you weren't gonna go because you didn't have the $$$ to spend. my friend's bought me 6 lap dances it was great.... oh btw, i just cancelled my order for the Pacesetter because the bastard has been on backorder for a month and a half now. i'm using the cash to go to KC trends tomorrow and get some decent headlights and other bulbs. i went ahead and shaved my trunk today, it looks great! i love a smooth @$$.

Kit99bar : i was thinking about leaving it like it is now and then adding the rest of the piping when it gets warmer outside.
