Hit a Hyundai

this afternoon @ 2pm dismissal @ school, the usual congestion...im trying to merge into the line of cars to leave the lot, and no one lets you in of course. So after this red 95 hyundai elantra passes i find a gap and quickly jump in apparently too fast and i hit her; not too hard though i didnt even feel a jerk in my car i just heard an abrupt crackle-crunch sound. So the school security has us pull to the side and we inspect the cars. She has a crack in the left hand corner of the rear bumper, about a foot long. My car - no damage because i hit her with my license plate bracket (the plate bracket was just scraped a little not even noticeable) Nothing touched on anything else...thank GOD. We exchanged phone #'s.... ( ) adresses, insurance info. A friend of mine who works at an auto body shop, i described the situation to him and he estimates about $2-300 for a new bumper. Now what im thinkin is just let him fix her car ill pay it and keep the insurance out of it (i dont need my rates going up or this on my so far perfect accident record). Opinions welcomed

I'd say pay her whatever the damage is and don't let insurance get involved.

Your Maxima was just trying to attack an inferior automobile. It's totally understandable.
