I went to the dealer today to get my car checked...I posted a couple days ago about how the check engine light came on and stuff! well, turns out the error was a fault in the ignition wiring harness...mechanic...told me! anyways, whether it was going to be replaced or patched...I'd still be covered under my warranty. so...anyways...turns out that my -ve battery terminal wire was loose and it was causing the car to act all funny and strange.

finally got the car...drove it like 1 mile from the dealership...suddenly the car looses power and vibrates weird. I open the windows and listen to the engine idle...then turn around and bring it back...by then its like 5pm...so I've no choice but to leave my car at the dealership. service manager anyways hears the wierd idle and says sounds like one of the cylinders isn't working...gulp...my car is only 20000 miles old and one cylinder is not working? geez...!

does anyone know if I'm looking at getting a new engine / engine rebuilt or what?

also, had to drive home in a POS rental ford escort...can I claim my rental charges from Nissan?

all help and advice is greatly appreciated.

no idea what is wrong with your car, but with warranty who cares. Are you saying that the dealer tried to send you home with a broken car, and then had the nerve to charge you for a rental? What kind of crap is that? Raise hell!!!

nope...the car ran fine when I drove it off the lot...the check engine light was gone....then I stopped by a local pizza place to pick up some food "my dinner" enroute home...! upon restarting my car...car starts up like how it did couple days ago...misfiring...! the service manager actually spent overtime calling around to find me a rental...thought it was kind of him to do so?!

well, anycase...going to check with my insurance about the rental fees...to see if there is anyways of compensation?

whatever it is...hope they fix it...otherwise think I might sell the car and tell dad about it and probably go buy something else?!

ignition coil

Iam 95% sure it will be your ignition Coil. Mine was bad and caused the car too loose power and idle very weird. I changed it and i have my old max back, finaly after 2 months of suffering and $400 for unecessary parts. It was like $65 at my local Nissan Dealer.
