Generic Pop Charger

Hi is this a generic pop charger? http://www.procarparts.com/store/di...fm?pid=NISS-adp

I wonder is it ok if i get this filter instead of the stillen. I don't want to spend to much money if they are the same? Are they? And is it easy to install and how long does the filter last? Can i reuse it like the stillen or no? How much would just the filter cost? DO i need to oil it? Help cux planning to buy this one? Cux i want to hear noises and 3k rev and some power. Please i'am only 17 and wishes to save money....

Your link doesn't work so I can't see the pop charger or the price you're gonna pay, but if you want to save money and get a quality intake PM me or send me an e:mail I can help you.

im going to answer some of your questions and some you didnt ask

yes, you can buy that intake. you WILL need to drill new holes in order for it to be bolted onto your MAF. it comes with a GENERIC CHEAP filter. does it any power? not anything noticeable. does it make noise? yes, very much so. is it as good as stillens? no, if it was, it wouldnt cost so little. if you want just the filter, it will cost you ~$50 for a K&N cone filter.

you will only hear it from 3k+ rpms. not much power.

why not spend ~70 more and get a JWT pop charger? its worth it. i learned my lesson, im taking my procarparts intake out soon.

Well I cant see the link, but I'd assume that if its a similar design to the pop charger that it would give similar gains. Afterall, the POP charger isn't some amazing engineering feat, its just a cone filter stuck on a billet adapter. I think it will work just fine.

That's right. My pop charger is better than stillens because the filter element has a larger surface area (I've tried both). And depending on application, yes it WILL add power. It's not a turbo or SC, but it's a good upgrade for a minimal investment.

I have that exact setup. Filter- $25 on e-bay, Adapter- $20 from Summit Racing, new nuts- $1 from Home Depot. Total=46. I did have to drill some holes in my intake adapter but I think its just because Summit sent me the wrong part. Anyway, I love mine. It has a great sound, looks good, and I don't see how its any worse than a JWT. Still has the velocity stack which MIHGT be better but JWT doesn't. Its just 2-3 HP anyway, the main reason I got one was sound. Go for it, I am VERY pleased with mine!

I just bought and installed this...I did not have to drill ANY holes and it is the same working setup as I had with the JWT except the adapter is not billet but does the same job and looks just as good at half the price...filter looks to be good quality as well as opposed to APC Intimidator styles which are known to fall apart.
