Vibration at light throttle on 98 SE
Anytime I apply the throttle lightly, whether from a stop all the way to freeway speeds, I feel a vibration thru the pedal. Once I push down further, it tends to go away as the RPMs shoot up and the CAI starts to growl. I was curious as to what could be causing this vibration, at idle my cars smooth and at WOT it feels like it should, its only when I just begin to apply the gas. Thanks! MAZ

How do you check engine mounts?
Take a good hard look at them. Hard rubber bushings are in there. If they look trashed and torn up, you need new ones. They should keep your engine braced to your car. A quick test is to have someone get in your car start it, put it in drive or for a 5 speed slip the clutch a bit with the e-brake on. Watch your motor and see if it moves around a bit when torque is applied to it. Do the same thing in reverse to check for motion both ways. If you motor looks like it wants to tangle with your hood by picking up out of it's pearch, you've needed mounts for quite a while now. You motor shouldn't move that much, if any at all. If it looks like it's a bit lose from the above described test, you probably need new mounts.
