What 18" tires have the best ride?

What 18" tires have the best ride?
I am shopping for new tires. I don't care about the "best" performance. I don't want to pay too much. What I do want is a reasonably good tire as far as wet and dry traction are concerned that still rides good. Some 18" tires tend to have too stiff of a sidewall.
I was thinking about some all season performance tires. (Yokohama AVS dB or Michelin Pilot Sport A/S or Falken Azenis ST115)
Maybe some Continental Tires. (Benz OEM)
What do you guys think.
Help.

I have Yoko AVS db's on my 17x8. They're very good all season tires. They handle snow, as long as it's less than 2" of dry powder
I've got 16.5K miles out of my tires and still have about 5K miles left on them. I highly recommend them.

1)Stiff sidewall=better handling
2)Stiff sidewall=less chance of denting your rims.. (I think)
just my opinion

Another question.....
The 2000 SE maxes come with 17" wheels with 225/50/17 size tires.
But everyone syas that we should ride with 225-235/45/17 size tires.
Apparently, Nissan did this to help out with the ride quality.
This being said, shouldn't people with 18's be able to ride on 225-235/45/18. I know my speedo will be off by 1 mile over, but to save my ride and my wheels, don't you think its worth it?
I mean how many of you guys have wanted just a little better ride out of your 18's.
Even the new Q45 rides on 45 series tires on its 18" wheels.
Opinions. Help.

Isn't this question kind of like: "I need an elephant gun. Can you recommend one that doesn't kick very hard?"
If you are committing to 18's, then you are also committing to a ride that is at least somewhat more harsh than stock, no matter what brand of tire you ultimately select. Good luck with that...
