How do you clean off the numbers after racing at the track?
How do you clean off the numbers after racing at the track?
Ok, I cleaned off the numbers on my windows with water and it came off. Most of it at least. There are little speckles left, I tried window cleaner and that didn't work. I tried chipping them off with my fingernail, that doesn't help that much. Any suggestions? I can't stand these little white speckles on my windshield.

Just some previous experience with my old 96 SE at the track. LOLTry a razor blade.
you can try using Bon Ami (non-abrasive cleanser). Somebody posted about it a while back. Evan the bimmer guys use it.

You can also use a razor blade. Just hold it at a slight angle against the window and slide it back and forth (opposite the way it sits on the window) so you don't scratch it. Blue coral also makes a window/plexiglass cleaner, that will work. It will also remove light scratches on you window.
The easiest way to remove those speckles is a bit of your mom/girlfriend/wife/lesbian life partner's fingernail polish remover. Just dab a little on a cotton ball and it rubs right off. No risk of scratches, and it's cheap. I doubt getting some on your paint would hurt it, but don't go dumping it on your car. On second thought, I don't really know if lesbians where nail polish.....

Razor blade. We have 16,000 cars on the lot where I work and every one of them has writing on the windows - either from paint pen or grease stick. We use a razor blade to get it off. Unless the blade is dull, it is VERY difficult to scratch glass with it.
GOD why would you trust yourself with a RAZOR BLADE or STEEL WOOL on your windshield. FFS the best cleaning solvent especially for grease or adhesive based stuff is LIGHTER FLUID. I mean like Zippo or Ronsonol. this stuff will power through ANYTHING it is the magic cleaner. My mom's mercedes had some dried clear coat or something like it stuck on it. This stuff was like hardened clear plastic. She tried everything to get it off and nothing was working. Bug and Tar remover wouldn't even work, so I bust out the Zippo fluid and BAM came right off without effort. And dont worry about it combusting, it evaporates so fast anyway you dont have to worry about it.

Step 2: Buy Rag
Step 3: pour lighter fluid on rag
Step 4: wipe without worry!
It's only strong enough to dissolve grease and petroleum based compounds. It wont do sheeyat to clear coat. Ever dripped gasoline on your paint by accident? no biggie
Hey, your sarcasm is not appreciated!
Why don't you try it and flame me if it doesn't work. I've personally tried both the razor blade and the lighter fluid and the lighter fluid is signifigantly less work and less risky. i have serious doubts about zippo fluid's ability to penetrate clear coat.
