sentra v-spec is kinda fast

last night ridding with the atl boys ran up on a sentra, unknown it was a v-spec, flys by me while I am on the on ramp. I see paper tag and start stalking it. Well looks like a cop ahead so we slow down. Nope not a cop and it's on I try and get closer and he nails it. So it's on about 70 mph... but wait I am not reeling this car in.. hmmmm... well at about 110 I start catching him YES he was still in it... about 125 I am passing him and he gets behind me and at 140 he just can't keep up. he gets behind traffic and I wait for him, but I can't just stop.. don't want to be caught sleeping and get blown by. So he starts up and I see him closing in fast and just nail it.. well this time he can't catch me. I slow down give him a BIG peace and he throws one back and he gets off the highway.

Got it on video tape as well..thanks jbwhitley

Just a little notice , I did end up catching him but he was running. So don't shrug off on the little brother in the family.

Bags I guess I left too early. But is sounds like you broke out the can of whip **** on him. I have not checked the numbers but if the Sentra is a 175hp car and probably weights in the 2800lb range I am sure it hauls. Nothing like a little brotherly competition.

Don't sleep on that V-Spec. My Roomate got one the same day I picked up my max. I drove it a couple days later. 6spd, short throw, and gutsy. I couldn't keep the rubber still, the car just lets loose all through 1st and 2nd. When you finally get it still it moves up fast. It may have 175 HP but that 180 ftlbs of torque is the catch. The car is fast.

The max will rock it on the straights, but dont get on a corner, he has you. I had that car all over a windy road and it is damned stable. I would recommend that car to poeple over the RSX any day.

no way an auto spev does that. maybe a very expirienced 6spd driver would, but not an auto.

Oh yah on freshalloy.com 3 people ran the 1/4 and all got 15.1 stock. It is a low 15s car. Not bad.

I meant kinda fast for an automatic Maxima to keep up. My wording was wrong.

That's why I have agx's and ebaich's so I can get into a corner and stay there

The SpecV comes in a 6spd manual only, output is less than the Max BUT it's a much much much lighter car! It's quite a formidable foe, especially in the hands of a good driver.

My 0.02 sense though, the Sentra has way too much power than it was designed for. Since the Max is heavier, it feels more sturdy and planted to the ground the faster you go.

Light car + major hp = sprinty, but handling is so so

When I test drove a pre-production SpecV last July, I was impressed with the power, BUT I prefered the Maxima handling better.

Last Friday night, I toyed with a red Spec V with paper tags (young cat driving). We caught the light with both of us in the dual left turn. The light went green and the second we straightened out, he punched it. I took off after him in 2nd at 3000rpms. I gained fairly quickly on him and started to lead, then when I hit 3rd (62mph), I literally ran away. I thought he let off it was so bad. We ran again from a 50mph roll and I absolutely destroyed him from 50-75mph. I don't know what to think about these cars.

That story got me pumped. I'm down in the ATL at least once a month so I know exactly where you are talking about. I wanted to get my fiancee the Spec-V but she refuses to drive a stick so it was the milder SE-R in auto. Still alright for a Sentra but no Spec-V. Anyway, good kill .

I really like the look of thew V-spec Sentra SER. One of the meanest looking 4 banger sedans I've evr seen. Not bad at all for a 4 banger.
