Anyone get their brake job for $79.95? What does it mean "value" pads and +tax and shop materials? How much in the end?

Also $39.95 coolant special, will they really flush it or just drain the radiator and fill it back up? Anti freeze is a nasty chemical to deal with, too many just pour that stuff in the woods. No-no recycle.

I did not get any coupons...but what I did get yesterday was a huge flyer to win the new supercharged Frontier. Anyone else get this? It comes with a number on it that you reveal at the dealer...would be nice to pick up one of those bad boys!

Yeah I got those coupons. In my experience, you show it to them and they don't even look at it. I don't believe those things anymore.

The brake job advertised is $79 per axle. So if you want both front and rear brakes done, cough up $160. I don't know what the "value" pads are but I suspect they are just OEM. If it were an upper end pad they would mention the brand name. I can't tell you anything on the radiator service.

Yeah, Nissan's coupons are never that great. Like 10.00 off every 100.00 of parts & labor spent after 100.00 -- I could save more than that by just taking to a good independant shop. Also I only get them like 3 times a year. I get much more and better from Mitsubishi...

The "key value" products are Nissan's versions of aftermarket equivalent (like Bendix) of it's OEM pads. It's their way of competing with the non original equipment substitutes. So, if you want real stock pads, like the one that came with your new car, you'll have to pay extra for "Nissan OEM" brake pads.

Also, $40 at the dealer will get you a drain and refill, not a flush. Always expect minimum service for maximum prices at the dealership. That's why I always use an independent mechanic.
