I doubt its a repo, but it might have been stolen/recovered, or just a demo thats being sold at auction.

Just because it has a salvage/rebuild title doesn't mean there is damage or been repaired.

They bought fully-loaded 5-spd SE's back in 1999 for that before they went bye-bye, so I don't see why a 2k2 can't be had for the same as the price hasn't seem to have gone up sans navigation. Sure, it depends on rebate or no rebate. But if the 1k rebate were still on I'd say you could get a new one for a thousand more than your number, maybe 1,300. I wouldn't want the car though, like buying something near the end of its life cycle.
