Glad to see she's running again. Did you figure out what caused the problem? And are your rims missing hubcaps or that's how they are? Either way the look good.

Integrals are five-spoke and don't curve in like that.
Those look like SSR Competitions.

I'd like to see your time(s) with good tires and a non-slipping clutch.

why the hell would you buy an Infiniti engine when you could have had a DET for $1300 and swap the internals? getting 9:5:1 compression and since the motor was out you could have went 14 PSI

progressing.. how about i tell you it was done on a certain members car a LONG time ago in 3 weeks.. and the only reason it took so long is because they had to wait for JWT to reprogram the new ECU to the specs of the bigger injectors and higher boost..

I went with the infiniti motor because it was cheap and low mileage. It's the same engine, it just happens to come out of a 98 I30. $800 for a 30,000 98 VQ isn't too bad.

I paid $400 for the R&D on my old engine and new install. No tax, it was $1200 out the door.

The reason I went with this engine over the det is because I just got the SC and like how it drives, and it's CARB (smog check due next month). Plus, this was the cheapest alternative to get me rolling again.

My car went in last Tuesday, and I got it back the following week's Wednesday morning (8 days), and it took them four to get around to taking my engine apart. The engine didn't actually go in until the Tuesday before that Wednesday.

Do you know for sure yet what caused the old engine to blow up? I heard people tossing around fuel starvation but no reason was given...

Yeah Sprint it's a pain here. Also, if I was going to do something that custom I would assume by a 95, or even another car like a 300ZXTT. I just want a quick, nice, reliable, and good looking Maxima.

Maybe after Summer when I buy another car as my daily driver, then I'll think about experimenting.

Yes the 14.7 was at Palmdale, and every car was running slow because the track was freezing cold so there was no traction to be had. Stock SS Camaro's were running like 14.5's with much better 60' times. According to my trap speed I should be able to run a much faster speed. Perhaps a 14.0 at Palmdale with a good clutch and a good launch. However, 14.7 was good enough for me to be the second fastest import out of like 250 cars. Second to a mod'd Supra TT that was capable of hitting like 14.1's, but turbo's work better in the altitude.

Wow..$400 for R&R the engine. Only in cali. I wish I can get that kind of labor rate on the east coast.

For those rims to be that light they look pretty nice. Hmm they also seem easier to clean maybe I need to go with set of these in 18x8 if they even make make them that big if not Ill go down to a 17x8. It looks very nice, 30K engine for $1200 thats a good deal.
Also your CAI is that metal tip with a hole did you get that welded on there to give the engine air, is that a good idea or not?

What happened to your stock motor?

I am in the middle of replacing my engine as I type. I hit a puddle during the last rain that turned out to be a 15" lake in the middle of the road. I was on the throttle in second gear at about 20mph when my CAI made a sound similar to dropping a running Shop-Vac into a full bath tub. NO MORE CRANKY. In fact the motor would not even crank with the plugs pulled. I can only assume that the rods are bent if not broken. Anyway the motor is out. I bought a 27k mile 97 Maxima motor for $600.00 shipped. I am puting it in myself.

Anyway, the other reason I am posting is to find out if any of you have any suggestions about routine maintainance or modifications that I should look into doing while the motor is out.

Thanks,
Eric

Are you going to install the CAI with a bypass valve?
