cai upper tube with stock airbox in an auto

...wondering if i remove the upper resonator by replacing with cai upper tube (from warspeed or pr) while keeping the stock airbox, would this improve power while maintaining low end too? would this be worth putting money into, or not too much gains? i have an auto btw that's why i don't want to use the popcharger filter at the end.

Try this mod. Worked nice on my 99 Auto. My Dyno butt & ears felt the increases too.

the best thing u can do if u want to keep the stock air box, is remove the resonator and replace it with the upper pipe u r talking about and then take the upper half of the airbox and ziptie the filter to it. it will be louder but it will sound really deep. i ran my car like this until i had time to install my CAI.

did you lose your low end this way? because i have an auto and it rarely goes above 3k rpm.

Doesnt sound like it. If you do it may be minimal but for the most part it sounds like your not pulling in too much too fast to get rid of too much low end.
