Shocked

I have a 5th generation Maxima. Looking for help or an answer regarding getting constantly shocked after driving. Does anyone have any solutions besides driving my other car.
Thanks

What do you mean my shocked?

I noticed my car, and ONLY when it needs a washing, gives me a little zap when getting out of the car and touching the outside of the door to close it.

I like to think it's a love tap. <wash me!>

Or it could be the 2 guage power wire running down the length of the car to the trunk

I get shocked by my car all the time :P I always slap my hand at the top part of the door so I don't feel the shock. My friend's Mustang shocks me too so who knows what the deal is

I don't know if I've been very lucky or this works...

I make sure my leg touches the door sill area as I step out onto the floor... Ever since I started doing that, I haven't been shocked... at least as far as my failing memory serves me.

Let me know if this doesn't work... er n/m... maybe I don't want to know

yea I get shocked alot too! I found out that I only get shocked when I wear a certain pair of shoes so maybe you should change shoes? theres also grounding kits that suppose to absorb the electric current and release it into a little light bulb instead of your body so maybe search for one of those

Maybe try anti-static sprays on the upholstery?

Whatever you do, don't get those (retarded) strips that hang down from your car and supposedly ground it. The electrical difference is between you and the car, not the car and the earth.

It's all about static. Your butt sliding across the seat generates quite a potential on your body. Your options are to hold onto some metal part of the car as you're getting out, try some anti-static spray, or wear a ground strap in your car.

Dont slide in and out of your seat. Rubbing against apolstry creates static. Ummmm.. Live in a more humid place..

I have the same problem whenever the air becomes dry.
Don't bother buying one of those static strips for the car. I had one attached to the RSB underneath the car for a while and it didn't help at all.

Re: Shocked

Like others have said, it's caused by your butt rubbing on the seat as you get out. I got in the habit of holding the top of my door as I slide out... that way the static "runs right through" and doesn't build up.

Youll get used to it. Sooner or later your body will build a tollerence to it then you could grab a live electrical wire without worry ofgetting shocked. No really though I think that by not rubbing your feet around on the carpeted ground will cause less friction an less static shock. heheeheh

I use to get that a lot in my old car, not anymore in my max though. I'm thinkin it's cause my old car didn't have leather like my max does. The upholstery butt rubbin is def the culprit.
