will a cargo net from a 2002 fit my '96? anyone know?

 

Dunno... Why don't you buy it, try it & return it if it doesn't fit? Consumers have rights now... I like my 5th gen net... keeps the groceries in place.

Where does the cargo net go? I have seen them on ebay a few times pretty cheap.

 

The net has many hooks, that attach to round latches, located on the back wall of the trunk (and other locations within the trunk of my 5th gen). It's used mostly to "secure" stuff that you don't want sliding around in your trunk.
