My Max passes the ULTIMATE Test !!!

The "female better-half approval test" !!

Yup, the woman loved my nice and luxurious Accord EX V6 loaded with leather, dual-power seats, 6 CD changer, moonroof, and decent power.

I was afraid that the new Max wouldn't pass because of a few shortcomings in the lux department compared to the Accord but it did!!

She says the Accord seats are more comfy, but loved the heated seats in the Maxima. It kept her buns nice and toasty on a road trip a couple weekends ago so that's a wash.

She liked the fact that the moonroof controls were within her reach on the Maxima now. On the Accord they're to the left of the steering wheel so that was a plus.

The auto climate control is much much better in the Maxima, and the outside temperature display is a great extra feature although its accuracy was questioned.

The 6 CD changer in the Accord was great, but the sound out of the Bose system in the Maxima is hands down superior. I got one of those sunvisor CD holders so I can still switch CD's pretty darn quick. She said better sound was more important to her than having a changer anyways.

The ride in the Maxima was stiffer and the cabin noiser, so that was a minus. I have to agree with her on that one.

Power. Night and day. The VQ engine is superior to the J30A1 in my Accord. It has an extremely wide powerband compared to the narrow one centered too highly in the rev band in my Accord V6. And coupled to the 5spd manual tranny the VQ shows all of its might. But it needs premium fuel. Oh well.

So overall the Maxima passed and according to HER it exceeded the luxury levels of my Accord and the Maxima is her new standard for luxury for when it comes time to buy my next car. So overall she likes the Maxima better than my Accord.

My Maxima is now female approved

Plus you dont see your Max in every group of cars on the street and parking lots like the Accord. The VQ seems to be much quieter than the V6 Accord to me!
