Even though that wasn't his question, I have to agree. 5-speed Maxima's are in a whole different ballpark than auto's.

Many people didn't see any time taken off their 1/4th with the VB mod. The ECU will give nice gains but is way too $$ for them IMHO. I know it is more than a superchip but they give the same/more gains. too bad we don't have a simple chip like that for the Maxima..

they are both relative.. they both will give varying results.. the VB has taken of .4 for some and .1 for others.. its all relative.. personally i would buy the VB Mod .. why? because its the only one out there and i am not going to buy a product where their is a better one out there

I'm gonna assume you bought an auto for an amalgam of reasons and just say go with the vb mod. If you realize you don't know why you bought an auto, go with a tranny swap, depending on the price. But don't go into getting a vb mod thinking it will give you a "manual tranny experience" b/c it won't (I can't stand it when people get the mod just b/c they think that). It is however well worth the $$ and increases the life of the tranny. If you HAFTA have an auto like me, go with the vb mod.

ECU: Gains fuel efficeincy, Gains Torque AND HP throughout the midrange, the MAX hp gain is like 5hp, but the most hp gained is in the midrange after 3500 rpms... works with ALL cars, modded or non modded. works even BETTER with higher octane/octane booster Cost is $450-500, depending on the amount of people that will buy it...
Trust me. this thing is by far the easiest mod ever. you dont have to do anything. just send in your ecu. it gets chipped. it gets sent back. the gains will actually get better as the ecu relearns your mods on the car.

VB: prolongs the life of your Auto. if your tranny is already toast. this wont help a bit. good for people who drive their autos as if it was a stick. Its a little pricey for just getting rid of the luxury pause when shifting. But again. it will help you prolong the life of the tranny. it might not make you any faster persay, compared to a torque converter, but.. hey. you autos need all the help you can get.. this is a long process. around 3-4 hours and its hella messy. i've installed about 5 vb's and everyone of them i got my clothes a little stained with tranny fluid and i got my driveway coated too. just besure you know what you're doing. there's 13 screws on the VB, and around 28 on the tranny pan. your arm will hurt. guaranteed
