The 9006 housing does not cause glare like the 9004.

The 9006 housing doesn't a good job preventing lots of glares and stray lights.

man, they make the PIAAs look like stock bulbsssssssssssss!

one of these days I'll slap the Philips kit on the Miata LOL it's just not a priority right now cuz I've got tons of other stuff to do first. Plus, the Euro Miata lights I've got now matched with the PIAAs does an excellent job.

If not, my doesn't cuz it's not projection 9006, we have a fix now!!! Just need to buy the Osram bulbs to replace the Philips bulbs!

It's TL like... not Audi like. It is very white and has very little blue unlike the German units. Orsma bulbs? $100 each? they more blue?

Andi/S2000/newer BMW are one kind, they are projection like, two tiny blue dot from far, then keep changing color as you approach, at eye level head to head they look like halogen. Those are cool!

MB/TL/Lexus/older BMW are another kind, reflective like, the whole light gives out superwhite light which looks blue from any distance. Those are ok too.

My Philips kit on BMW, it does NOT look blue at all once it warms up, that's not good.
Fortunately someone on the BMW board find a fix, the Orsma blubs, $140 a pair. Then it will look like the TL/Lexus/Older BMW.
If you already look like TL now, good for you. But if it's not blue just white when you look at it, you have the same problem as mine

So you want some blue? Mine is white white... at certain angles there's a little yellow, but not a lot. Warm up is cool. There's soem blue on the kit... cause yesterday I went to Best Buy to buy a TV (Second one in 1 month hehe) and I saw my headlight reflection off of the door... it was cool. hehehe and bright.

Where are those Orasma bulbs for $140 a pair? Are they modified already for 9006 application?

Shing, lemme ask you this...was there a big big difference in terms of lighting when driving? I mean, is it really a big enough change to warrant the cost? Don't laugh at me (question sounds awefully basic), but I've always read these threads but have never really understood the impact of HIDs vs. std. headlights. Functionally, are they THAT much better over stock (or stock with upgraded bulbs)? Is visibility when driving THAT much better?

Yes I truely think so... here are two pictures below. Taken at the same spot. It's a before and after. There is however a BIG difference. I actually had to adjust the housing lower with the HIDs to try and not blind people. Yet you can still see a lot more and a lot brighter.

before:
<img src="http://users.ev1.net/~shinglin/cars/crx/lighting/hid16.JPG">

after:
<img src="http://users.ev1.net/~shinglin/cars/crx/lighting/hid15.JPG">

I think it's hard to capture the true impact of the kit.

Another picture is this one below... it's a picture of the Maxima with BOTH headlights and fog/driving lights on compared to the CRX with HIDs. Not a very fair comparison but it shows the general idea of how much more light there is.

<img src="http://users.ev1.net/~shinglin/cars/crx/lighting/hid13.JPG">

Notive the top cut off is at about the same level.

Pictures do seem pretty convincing, but I bet it's much more dramatic in real life like you said.

Irregardless of it's real usefulness, it shore iz a neat lil' gismo...certainly worth every penny from that perspective!

Every time I install a set of HIDs, I just yell out "OH DAMN!!!" maybe I get more excited them some people, but everyone will "ooh" and "ahh" when you turn them on. Pictures don't do the kits justice.. gotta see them in person.
