New Dyno's of ME/VI and 10psi+40shot!

What ya really wana know...

YES the ME/VI works! I gained 25hp peak at the wheels.

SAE corrected dyno numbers...
Boost: 311hp 264tq
Boost+40hp nitrous jet: 355hp 329tq

Uncorrected dyno numbers, just for the hell of it...
Boost+40hp nitrous jet: 376hp 349tq
(It was a good day to dyno!)

You can view them here
http://members.***.net/matchou/Dyno2_28_02.htm

The charts are a little confusing becasue the scales change form plot to plot, so look closley. I will be getting the files so I can resort them.

The biggest gain was from the 40hp nitrous jet. Activated at 3500rpms, it took torque up from ~200 to 328 (+128ftlbs !!!)when I hit it and it stayed up around 320 till I cut it off at 5600rpms.

I have the ME/VI set to open at 5400rpms, that looked like the best compramise. On a NA car it might be lower.

I'm glad the variable intake worked out so well for ya. Now we're a little more on level with the 5th gens Do you have any dyno numbers with your supercharger but no variable intake?

mardigrasmax: so without Nitrous, you're doing 312hp to the wheels?

Saw it Live!

Man, I had the privilege to see this Dyno LIVE and I must say it was incredible. Matt thanks again for helping me figure out what was wrong with my car. I'm going to fix the IAC valve sometime this weekend! Also, it was nice meeting you today.

You've got it wrong, we should be able to walk away quite easily from the 00-01 models and probably the 2k2 models because of the significant weight difference between the 4th and 5th gen. Anyways, I rarely here about any 00-01 running the times or mphs the modded 4th gens are getting.

I guess I'll have to hold onto my car for quite a while longer. I told myself I was gonna keep my car atleast another year if the VI worked. Also, today GM said they will be importing the Holden Commodore SS to the States as the new Impala SS. If you don't know what the Holden SS is, it's a GM made 4-door sports car that has IRS, the infamous LS1, and a 6 speed option. Pricing should be in the 28K range. Drooooooool......

The shape of the last curve proves it. The car keeps it's power even after mid to upper 5k range.

Compare that to Kev's dyno and it has the same characteristics
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?threadid=87223

This thing's just like the energizer bunny, it just keeps going and going.

Dave I wasn't referring to track times, weight, etc.; only dyno sheets. We needed that shift up in the full range of rpms, and it seems this intake manifold fits the bill.

I think we need to make decisions soon as roadbeast is shipping this week!

What is involved for the install? adjusting the RPM swith too?

What does this look like installed compared to the stock one?

AS I worry from what my dealer will see, I still got over 30k more of bumper to bumper warrenty =) I guess they couldn't prove this thing hurt anything anyway?

So what were the NA gains??? I just see boosted and NOS numbers.

Was there someone else doing NA dynos?

Peace

It sure make's me mad that these thing's are not offered stock in the 4th gen.Road beast good work and keep em' coming.Mardigrasmax good job on the write up.

Dave B what is the holden commodore supposed to be competing with?I mean it has like a 402 hp LS1 motor and at 28k that's a cheap way to acquire ZO6 spec motor. Question is is it gonna sell?

it competes with the M5 at almost 1/4 of the cost.. i bet you most camaro and trans am owners will take a couple of these as daily drivers.. or those that want to move away from the 2 door for more practicality..
