did my Max get osteoporosis?
I took her to the tire shop today for an alignment. WTF the wheelbase is 0.4" short!!! Also, the track is 1.3" wider thanks to the 235/40-18.
Alignment is bogus IMHO, because every single angle is correct EXCEPT the toe. The left was too little, the right too much. Can you say scalloped RS-A?
Anyway, why I think an alignment is unnecessary is because I went 38k since the last one, and my RS-A lasted 59k. Ok, if I aligned the car once per year maybe the RS-A could have lasted 70k, but who cares?
Am I correct in thinking that the rear is non-adjustable?? Because it is totally within specs. I did see them put those things up to my 18" bad=boys in the rear. Then they turn on the thingy and play laser tag. Only took 20 minutes to complete the alignment.
P.S.--no wonder I see so many cars with RE950's, they had them in the tire shop. They don't look nearly as good as I thought and only A for traction, not AA.
Also, I looked at a 2001 Lotus Turbo Esprit, brand new, and was not impressed. The car has sat since early 2001 and the price was 89,000. It only had a 5-spd but I admit the brakes were impressive in front. The cross-drilled rotors were rusted in the cross-drilled holes. GM is one hurting company. In PA apparently the vehicles are inspected when they come in. I saw 2001 Blazers with expired inspections. They have sat more than 1 year unsold!!!!!!! But Lincoln still whoops Nissan with a $5000+ rebate on Town Car.
