I went to a local riced out car club meeting tonight. Almost all the cars were modded, and they all were telling me how they could take a max and they whoop them everyday, yadda yadda yadda...Well, we start cruising down the strip, and its three lanes in each direction divided by 50ft of grass. There are about 25 cars in the group, and we all catch a red light. There were three cars that were talking smack to me. One was a 89~ Taurus SHO 5-spd, lowered, crappy 16"s, combat wing, ragged out, the second was a clean looking 2000 Accord I4 5-spd, white, lowered, I/E, 18"s, and the third was a 92 Legend 5-spd, I/E, lowered 18"s, combat wing. Well, at the light, on front line was those three, SHO, Legend, Accord, and I was in the middle lane behind the Legend. The light turns, and all 25 cars start racing each other. Us three, excluding the Accord, were the fastest, and we pulled away from the group fast. The Legend pulled about 1 car from the SHO, and as I cut in front of the Accord, I started gaining on the Legend. At about 90 I was door to door and baby stepping on him. We hit another light, and now the three of us are revving at each other. Off the line, I pull about 1 1/2 cars in front of the Legend, and stayed there until about 95 when I shifted into 4th and then the Legend started gaining on me. We both pulled from the SHO pretty good. After that, they all said that my car was hella fast, and I was thinking, "damn, stock exhaust, stock clutch and flywheel, can't wait to get my clutch/flywheel back and buy that Y-pipe!" Hehe. I was pretty much the fastest car out there Damn, wait till I get boost!

SHO faster?

I dont really see how you can say a SHO is faster than a Maxima unless maybe you have an auto. I have a friend that has a 91 SHO and he wanted to race me as soon as I got my Maxima. So it was me and actually 2 SHO's the 91 and a 96 with NOS. Now the 96 is slow as hell with a 3.4 V8... pretty sad. Anyways, we all head out and me and the 91 line up. Now I just got my car and im not really used to it yet, so my launch sucked, I spun out a little but once it caught I was off. It was actually neck to neck up until about 3rd gear, thats when I started pulling on him, I ended up winning by almost a full car length around 100mph (nice long country road). I know this win is not due to the driver error on the 91 SHO's part, he is pretty damn good, he takes his car out to the street legal drags at the local raceway. Now the 96, we first raced without his NOS, I won by 3 car lengths. Then next race was with NOS, I think he had a 30 shot and it really didnt do much, I still won by about a car length. Then the cops showed up, luckily we were out on some country road and ended up BS'ing our way out. It was a good night for my newly purchased Maxima.

The guy with the 96 SHO ended up with major engine problems because he decided to go all out with NOS, it died horribly and ended up costing over $2000 to fix.
