Basically I have found someone selling the entire kit (except for 1 screw) for about $400-$450 + S&H from the ME. I am just tripple checking everything, as well as looking for someone who is willing to test it out. I have no mechanical experience and no dynos are near by.
The first Guinea pig would get the $400 price + S&H after that my contact wants 10% on top since he would be doing all the hard work. (I'm not making anything out of this).
Would you be willing to share the risk, like say, split the cost with whoever's willing to try?? If the total cost with shipping is $600, how about you put half of that down? When all the hardware arrives, you get the other half??

If you are worried about them screwing you over dont be like I said before I have known him all my life.
I would be willing to put up half the cash as long as I get paid regardless if its the right part or not. But then again it comes down to me not making any money of the deal regardless of which way it goes.............................................. ........

Does this come with the vacuum canisters and such? The only other problem I'd have is that I may not have too much time to work on my car since I'm pretty busy this semester and I need to be in Dallas to do the install

As for the install I am really looking for someone with some time on there hands who can get the parts install it and verify it for us ASAP. I know a lot of people are anxious to get this done before the summer time starts (including myself). Please dont be offended but the other half of the money is coming out of my pocket for all I know some could gib me. I'm hoping someone like Cheston can install the part and verify it for us.
I need information about import laws from the ME to the states. I was told that clearing stuff from the ME is not a problem as they have all there export lisences in place but the problem is once it hits US soil I was essentially told that all import problems need to be sorted out by whoever is receiving the manifold IF any problems arise I doubt any will. Maybe someone with information about importing speciality import parts can give me some help?
Money transfers will not be a problem. Money will go straight to a company called "Al-Tawoon" there are no bank fees on that end so all transfer fees applicable US side need to be done by you. I cant remember exactly but it was either a CitiBank or Standard Chartered. Sending CitiBank should be easiest since the fews should be negligible. Bank certified checks will also work. I dont even know if MO even works over there
Today is Friday there (thus a holiday) so nothings getting done till Saturday afternoon our time. More information by then.
I will split this off into a seperate thread once I get details organized. This is a group buy, so after the initial one piece order I will just be the intermediary so they wont get flooded with e-mails/faxs asking questions etc.
Well, I'm in

AHA!
I finally got an answer. Apparently, it's the Muslim New Year or something and they were closed.
And now I've got another snag. they estimated the shipping based on standard shipping rates.....but they didn't know when they estimated that there is a minimum shipping rate...<see below>
"Dear Mr.Ian Sweeney,
Sorry for the delay.Because here was new year holiday.
We have recd.469$.
About the parts, the cargo charge is minimum will be 220$(ie,45kgs).
So, please advice me as earliest."
So it looks like I need to order 45kg worth of parts to make the shipping worth it.
So anyone else down with buying one now (I am not responsible, and there are no refunds, however....risk is yours.)
I wrote him back and asked him how many of these kits I will need to buy to make 45kg.
He should write back shortly.
Let me know,

Unfortunately, I had to just rebuild my OS, (An XP Update blew my machine up, how ironic.) and my website is down.
I will try and get it up quick so I can re-post the links to the pictures of the "38U" manifold and the diagram outlining all the parts that will be sent.
Here are the links...(Update - they ARE working now.)

Alright.
2 of the "kits" are 40kg's.
So I need one more person to order one, and this will be at your own risk. Once that goes through and works hapilly, I will open a group deal.
So who's willing to hang them out there with me, so to speak?
Sorry I had to raise the prices....This sucks. I checked shipping rates online myself, and FedEx is $600USD from there!!
Most other companies (Like Air Cargo of Dubai, and other local places) charge $300-400 for shipping.
So there's nothing I can do.
To Whoever "hangs them out with me":
The price will be $499 shipped to your door. I'm giving you free shipping from my place to yours.

Did you check with DHL? They are pretty reasonable and are truly worldwide. Even the US Postal Service has partnered with them for worldwide shipping needs. I would never have guessed that a country's air mail would specify a minimum weight. Usually prices are scaled according to size and weight.
BTW, I weighed "the dud," the 35U intake, and it is only roughly 16lbs or 7.25kg. The 38U is only slightly larger at the port end so even tacking on 4lbs to be on the safe side, that still is only 9kg.
I would seriously urge caution in sending more funds until you can verify that shipping costs are as they say... The Roadbeast fiasco has made me very leery of overseas dealings but I think any safeguards you can implement is to your advantage.
DHL
Assuming costs from here to dubai are the same from them to us, I guess shipping is rather expensive.
Plugged in some numbers on the DHL site and their shipping calculator estimates a 20# package as being $270. Ouch...

I just spoke to my Credit Card company, and they said that if I use one of those "convienience checks" to pay for the wire transfer, then the product will be covered and disputable.
Unfortunately, it will take 7-10 business days for them to send me the checks....Grrrr.
Nonetheless, I figured a way to cover the financial side of it (most likely) for whoever buys. Looks like speedtrip may be the guy.
I still can't be 100% financially liable, just in case, but at least now there's a great chance that even if this guy screws you and me over, you can get your money back. (I hope)
I would not be so lucky, as I paid for mine with cash.

Got word back we are pretty much in the same situation for shipping. Shipping two kits comes to $200 shipping one will cost the same.
What might happen for now is that I will ship the first two kits to my place and then send it off via Fedex/UPS ground.
After that maybe all the people who want kits that live in the same city can get the delivered to someones address to save a bit on total shipping costs etc.
I asked them to find out a cheaper method, as off right now if anyone wants to order 2 kits it looks like the price for them will be $1080 or about $530 each. If its shipped to my place it will be an extra $30 on top of that (I'm guessing).
Once we get a large enough order we could probabl take half/quater a container so that should work out really cheap....
More info to follow..............

Isn't half of $1080 $540, not $530?
My price will be $499+shipping to your house from Seattle, so it's pretty much the same. I will be taking orders of 10 at a time once I get this going. I will check on shipping for 10 of them with my guy and adjust accordingly.

Update #847659172.......
No Name Price in Dhs
1. 1451738u00 Actuator power 140.00
2. 1451238u00 Shaft Assembly 96.00
3. 1451338u00 Valve Power 7.00
4. 1451138u00 Screw adjust (Pin dowel?) 7.00
5. 1451540f00 Oring 22.00
6. 1401038u02 Int Connector 924.00
7. 1403238u00 Gasket 22.00
8. 1403338u00 Gasket Connector 22.00
9. 1402738u00 Cover vintage (intake cover?) 396.00
Total 1636.00
Which is USD $440.
Thats the lastest info I got. Shipping costs are the same $200 for two pieces. Shipping wieght is 7 kgs per item. Sea freight is possible but I was told it would take 1-2 months
Shipping costs should lower by 20% once we start getting volume orders in. They have 7 entire 'kits' in stock after that the wait time is 2 weeks.
I was thinking that we ship two kits to someones house/business address and from there they forward one of them to the second persons house.
Whos up? It will be ready to ship once the money has been received. Yes I can guarantee that you will recieve the package

Hey Iansw and Finality,
I would take part in one of your deals but I was one of the RoadBeast victims, so you can understand my wariness. Here's another suggestion I can make;
For the 1st VI you would have sent here;
1) share the risk between you and the 1st willing participant, like split the cost of the 1st one 50/50 or whatever you feel comfortable with, and ;
2) for all the others who want to take part, have them send you money and they get put on your list for the subsequent group deal. Like say I send you $100 and I'm willing to risk 10%, so you could use $10 towards getting the 1st VI. WHat I get out of it is being 1st on your list for the group deal once it's established. You can make your list a 1st come 1st serve listing, or prioritize according to how much someone may have sent. So if I send 100, but GW sends 250, then he'd be higher on ther list. Or, if i send 100 and risk 50 whereas gw sends 250 and risks 30, I would be higher on the group deal list.
How's that sound?

Once we start making large GDs it will be near impossible to keep track who owes what.Like I said I will cover the first two orders 50/50 whatever you guys want as long as it by an established member.
I can 100% guarantee you that you will recieve the parts, though I cannot guarantee anything past the first two since my financial risk will be too great especially for something where I gain pretty much nothing. I would prefer the money to be sent directly to them since Uncle Sam can be a pain at times. However for the first test order you guys can send me the money and I will just wire it directly to them.
I can give you my contact info as well as there contact info. Address/numbers whatever. The company I am dealing with does not handle many customers so they would prefer all contact go through me.
Plz note that once the initial 7/8 units run out there is a wait time as they need to re-order the 'kits'.

The guy I'm dealing with already has my money, unfortunately, he misquoted me on shipping, and I need one person to buy from me to help me with the shipping costs, as shipping 2 costs the same as shipping one.
I can guarantee your money will be safe because I can cover it with my Credit Card.
I can 90% guarantee you'll get the right parts, because the pictures below match what we need, and these pictures are from my supplier:

A) They are trust worthy
B) The parts being sent are the correct ones
Guessing from Ians earlier posts the total cost will be about $589 shipped. Thats going from the ME -> His place -> your place.
My costs are working out to be rougly the same its coming in @ $570. I am however working out ways to lower the $100 shipping cost per kit from the ME to here. The wait time will be longer but worth the savings in my opinion.

I have to check out US shipping costs, but I think mine will be more like $530-$540.

Thanks to Speedtrip for helping out here!
He gets the first one at $489 shipped to his door.
Now I can get mine and his shipped over here. Should be 2-3 weeks tops, barring any unforseen problems.
