It won't do squat (only annoy people who may kick in your door)...

layer up your security... alarm, steering/brake lock, etc. LoJack or Teletrack if you can afford it. The harder you make it to steal, the better off you are... But, given enough time, they can steal any car.

I assume you're refering to the hood sensor pin...

The Maxima comes with one (the one in front of the battery) so it's easy to wire it up to the alarm. I don't think most thieves will pry the hood open... It would probably set of the shock sensor anyways.

Get several backup batteries and place them far apart from each other. Run a bunch of wires near (or) on the brain and siren so no one would know which one to cut. These are just guesses, I wouldn't take anything I have to say about electronics seriously.

i have had two different types of alarms one with a shock sensor and one with a prox sensor. the shock sensor only works if your car senses an impact. so theoretically, if they can get into your car with out setting off the sensor and avoiding the door pin, then you are screwed. the prox sensor i have is set on sensitive but only inside the cabin. the outside sensors are normal. so a guy walking by wont set it off but someone inside would.

best alarm on the market? imo the CLifford AG4. comes with remote start, hood pin, trunk pin, trunk pop, front windows up and down, self adjusting tilt sensor and a whole lot more stuff. i had two more sirens added both with back up batteries and the brain relocated to a different spot. i also had a breaker box placed in case someone tried to short out the alarm. so basically, if you want to steal my max or break into it, the alarm would be going off the entire time. if you tried to remove the alarm or cut the power, the starter kill engages.

GET A MULTI LOCK. That thing is ridiculous. I heard the only way to remove it is to saw it off with a special drill from japan and even that takes over 2 hours of cutting. Im pretty sure a thief would skip your car if he saw you had one of those on.
I have an alarm with pager so if the bastard sets it off, it will page me(within 5-10secS) and tell me someone is messing with my car. Then I run out with the shotty and its on.
If you stick with a setup of " Alarm w/ pager, Club, and multilock. Robbers will most likely skip over your car. It isnt worth the time.
