I had the needle placed at just under 100mph and was making good time were it not for the flashing light's that appeared way-off behind me.First i thought it was an Ambulance so i moved to the right lane and so did the light's and that's when i f@ckin realized that it was me he was after.

First i'd like to take this opportunity to state that if i had a suitably equipped vehicle read M5,E46 M3,ZO6 or a Supra t-88 @1.8 bar and a 70shot,the disadvantagious situation could have been "easily" avoided.......now back to the story.
I stop my car and wait for like 45 second's before he finally pull's up behind me.

Mississippi State Trooper:Why the rush at close to triple digit's?
Me:Am trying to get back to Atlanta in time for work.[lie]
MST:What time do you work?
ME:10 o'clock [lie]
MST:Where you coming from?
ME:Memphis TN.
MST: Do you have any weapon's in the car?
ME:Yes [point's it out to him]
At this point his radio crackles and spit's out my full name's, address, car make and model, tag number and state.
MST:What is in your trunk?
ME:Car cleaning items....i pop the trunk for inspection.
MST:Ok let me see your license.
ME:Is it ok to reach for my license?
MST:Oh yeah.

5 Minute's later
MST:At 98mph i ought to take you to jail but i will let you go due to the fact that you stopped and you were straight forward with me......look's at watch.....
ME:Thank you sir[lie]
MST:You will hit Alabama at around morning rush hour traffic and do take it slow coz Alabama State Trooper's don't play.Hand's me my license and ticket for 98 in a 70 @3am.Thank you for your co-operation and keep your speed down..

I had just broke up with my girlfriend and took a 400 mile overnight trip on my Ducati. I was heading back south into the Bay Area on 101 doing about 95mph, back in the day when the limit had just been cut to 55. As I crossed the line from Sonoma county into Marin the hair on the back of my neck stood up; I guess I saw the CHP car out of the corner of my eye. I whacked open the throttle. It was an older bike, so it only got up to about 125. I was looking for an offramp, but back then this was cow pasture country, so nothing but highway in front of me. After about 5 miles I saw an offramp ahead, but there was a cop car on top so I pulled over on the side of the highway and got off my bike. I was leaning on it when the original trooper pulled up, an old guy with a big gut. He swaggers up to me and says "How fast do you think you were going?" I decided to be dumb but not stupid, so I sort of said "65?" as though I didn't have a clue. Well, the guy busts up laughing and says "Good answer. You didn't try to lie about speeding, and I didn't get close enough to clock you" (must've been my head start, cuz their cars have way more top end than that bike). Anyway, he wrote me up for just being 10 over and sent me on my way. He also gave me a great tip, that they often cruise 10mph over the speed limit, so if they gain on you, they usually don't care if you're a bit fast, and if they don't gain, they go after you. I've never gotten pulled over on the freeway using that technique.

 

If I were being chased, or even thought I was being chased, that would be the *first* thing I would tell the trooper. I would insist on filing a report if I could. This is assuming it was true.

They would have attempted to find the J30 and stopped them on something totally bogus just to see if they were a danger. AND you would probably have lessened the penalty if you got one at all.

But then again, that assumes you were *truly* threatened.
