I had to jump start my car after leaving my lights on overnight.
since then i have notice a lack in performance.
i.e.
when i need power, my car hesitates...
sometimes it even fails to downshift when i punch the gas
hard for a boost to pass people.
it has become an annoyance.
it was suggested to me that maybe my battery was not charged properly and it might not be providing enough juice needed.
... after getting my battery tested at autozone... "good battery" message appeared on their tester screen. the guy suggested that it might be my alternator ("maybe you fried it on the jump start") or, he looked at my connectors and said maybe they could use some cleaning ("pour soda on them and scrubbing works..." !!!#@ ????? )
anyway.. it's not an emergency, but i have already has some close calls because now my timing is all fOObarred on the road and loss of power is getting annoying

Well, you can poor a carbonated beverage on you terminals to eat away the crud, however I don't recommend this because it is sticky and doesn't do a great job. Loosen the terminals and take some sand paper and clean all the connections to a shine. I don't think this is your problem though, sorry......
