I was just looking at the 2k2 brochure

The SE and GLE definintely have wheels about 1" taller in diameter than the GXE. The GXE is like our 4th gen and comes with 215/55-16. Here's the proof in the pudding, the GLE has 215/55-17. Same width, same profile, 1" bigger rim! The SE has 225/50-17.

I think that means we can't take a 235/40-18 from an older Max and put it on the 2k2, it's too low. Also interesting is the turning diameter is nearly 5' longer for the SE and GLE over the GXE. Wow, it's a full 40', that's crazy. The old yardstick for me is the Volvo 240 which could do it in 32.8. Guess it's needed for those getaways in Stockholm!

What are those things on the timing case on the 3.5 VQ, we don't have them on the 4th gen. maybe they're for variable timing??
