Yea....I get rubber into 3rd with my ACT....I haven't gotten rubber into 4th though....maybe I have and i just didn't hear it....Are you running those low profiles in your sig at the track....if so, that's probably why you got rubber into 4th...

Re: Re: Act Clutch, Chirping Tires In 4th Gear!!!!!!!

Mardigrasmax let me borrow some 15 inch tires that he had other then that Id be in a world of hurt. I still have to purchase some lighter wheels, I am debation between 17 and 18, common sense 17 of course but that will lower the car closer to the ground, I cant do that cause of the oil cooler hoses. But seriously I was like surprised too , I am chirping in 4th gear. Thats a heck of a good clutch.

There aren't any "stages" with ACT clutches.....there are three different clutches available for the maxima: the Street setup which is an upgraded pressure plate and a modified stock disc....this is what all the maxima guys get. I guess you could refer to it as "Stage 1" Then you have the 4-puck and 6-puck discs....both use the same pressure plate as the street clutch...but are MUCH more harsh on engagement than the street. The 4-puck and 6-puck would literally RIP a maxima tranny apart....so that's why no-one has them.

It truely sucked for me. I only made four runs, all in the daytime when it was hot as heck. Furthermore, me being sick didn't help. I threw up a few times with an upset stomach. That's what I get for taking the pain medicine that clearly states I should eat something before I take it, which I didn't. At night, many people got better times than in the day, but I still felt a bit sick, so I didn't run anymore. Btw, I just pulled MIL code myself today and found out a 0304 code, which mean I need to get a new knock sensor. Could explained why I ran so bad.

I chirp 3rd no problem with my ACT, It almost feels like I chirp 4th but I know it's not, It sends my head back into the headrest though. The engagement with that clutch is like a drug to me, and I'm addicted.

oh yeah

yes its possible with the ACT to chrip 4th. when i had my light a$$ 15" steelies on i could nail it from idle and as the rpms built past 4 grand i would break the tires loose and i would continue to bark every gear.

Tires chirp in 4th, great clutch!!!!!!

Emax and Jude my time was not great either, my best time was a 14.9,
and I was not driving the car at the time I was the passenger in my car. Mardigrasmax raced a Riced out Mustang GT and beat him bad. When I drove I had a RX7 Turbo pull up, dude was cool the whole time I almost got him as my best time was a 15.1 his time was 15.0 when I drove. I also get to 10 PSI quick in 3rd gear and you can hear this knocking sound and have to shift to 4th right before I get to the big time clock. I have no excuses since Matt got my car down into 14.9, I can t drive plain and simple. I did get a good reaction time .6?? something like that, Matt showed me how to launch and on what light to do it on. I did redlight 2 times out of about 12.

Deezo thanks for ans my PM on my way back since it was pitch black I had tractor trailers flashing me from the rear. So we know what that means Hanabis need to point down just a bit more.

Jaime, don't feel too bad. I think you just need some time with the car. This was your first time(second ever racing at the track)racing with the SC, so you know you could only get better. Plus, didn't you still have the 18s in the rear? Remember those are heavy and definitely slow you down. Also, I think there's something wrong with your car like Matt said. I just found out I have a knock sensor problem. I pulled the code myself yesterday. Big reason why I ran so bad. I'm going to get that fix and maybe put back the CAI on.
