Recommend a spring compressor

I just got my GCs.
Please recommend a spring compressor.
Harbour Freight has one for $40 and a hydrolic one for $129.

Does anyone have a hydrolic spring compressor?

I have the harbor frieght $40 spring compressor. My brother and I have used it so far for an altima, an integra, and several maximas. It works good.

you don't need a spring compressor.

Or you can rent one at Autozone for 42.80 after tax, and you get that money back when you return it.

KrZyMaX - How come I don't need a compressor. I also have KYB AGX shocks. I've never done this before, but are you telling me I don't need a compressor to get the springs on the struts?

There are ways to get the spring off without a compressor, but none of they are smart or safe.

Get a compressor. Any one from any auto parts store will work just fine. Not taking the time to do the job right isn't a good reason to hurt yourself, your car, or others.

Without springs...Yeah, I'd say it's possible. Stand it up, put all your weight on it. Have someone else bust off the nut. Putting it back on is easier if you've got shortened springs.
