Side window shades

Ever since I spent a summer in Europe I've liked side window vent shades, but I've never put them on a car before. Well, I've gotten tired of being fried by the midday sun, and front side tint on the glass is, well, frowned upon in my neck of the woods. The big vent shades are ugly, but I saw CustomMaxima had the smaller type on his site and the price was good, so I figured I'd try them. They match the sunroof vent and go on in 5 minutes using the same 3M double sided sticky tape as the emblems; it doesn't get much easier. There is a little more wind noise, but I like that I can crack the window down and no one can tell; especially good for parking on a hot day, and they do shade well while driving. The only downside is I like to rest my arm on the door and tap rhythms on the top of the door frame; can't quite do that now ... I just wish they made one (about 2.5x wider) for the rear window. I have 35% tint and it would be nice to have more shade up top.

I got those at the local R&S Strauss for about $30.

It does cut down on wind noise. Now when I sit in another car and I'm driving down the highway, cracking the window open and it's noisy! And like you said, I could crack open my window a little bit on hot summer days.

window vents

Sheesh! Always a better deal ... The best part is being able to crack open windows while it's raining ...

What I hated in Europe was the taxi drivers who would use these to make it easier to smoke in their cabs in the rain. Man, that ruins the smell of a car forever ....
