CAI anyone have problems

SOme people say CAI are not good b/c they suck up water when it rains. I never had problems with my CAI. I wash my car and maybe a little water might touch the intake. Just wondering if anyone had REAL problems.

no problems so far. ever since i joined the .org, i haven't heard of anybody complaining about water entering the filter due to a car wash. our filters are pretty much hidden away from any openings. one thing i did notice about my cai is that now my engine has a somewhat high pitched sucking sound? this is normal right?

nope! I've driven in HEAVY rain and nothing has happened... if i hit a good 3-6 inch puddle i think i'd have problems haha but oh well... we'll see
my friend in Taiwan flooded his 3.0 Cefiro in a storm, haha and i can say that it sucked to be him!!! the costs were... out of this world

No problems

Just alittle whistle when idling and a deep roar upon acceleration. I do stay away from water puddles.

it can be normal, the last time i had to change my TB gasket b/c i kept cleaning the unit and found out that air was leaking that also gave it a high pitch and made my car run lean. thank goodness for the dealership that helped me find the problem.

no problems at all. the filter is slightly higher than the fog light hole which means that the water would have to spray straight into the hole, then travel upwards for it to hit the filter. I just make shure that when washing the car with the hose, to not spray driectly into the hole so I dont soak the filter with water.
