Anyone heard of Uniden radar detectors?
Anyone know anything about these radar detectors? The guy told me that he would give it to me for $225 Instead of $250. I wasnt even serious about buying it I just wanted to know if it was decent or not before I considered it. Thanks

I have the Uniden LRD220SE.
It won the Car & Driver comparison of detectors under $100 a few years ago. It's been great, no complaints at all. I'm still surprised by it's performance, considering I only paid $80 for it.

I have one
Its an LRD8000 I think. Spends most of its time riding around in the glove. Had it for about 5 years. $140 at the time. Falses a lot. Aluminum case, it has been dropped plenty of times with no adverse affect. Sensitivity on Ka is marginal. Laser is useless because if laser goes off, all it really is telling you is that you're clocked (no different than any other RD). X is fine. K is ok.
I don't know how much $ you have, but the V1 is far and away the best. Passport 850 next but I think passport still has that funny chord/power thing, so remote chordless mounting I think is an issue. Lots of information out there on the subject. Buy the best you can afford. It'll pay for itself, especially if you have a lead foot.
