How many of you would be interested in Grillcraft grilles for the Maxima? I know I would, so I wrote to them to see if I could get some interest. Hey, I'm the guy who contacted Michael Quaife and got the ball rolling on the Quaife LSD; now I'd like to see these! Maybe if we show enough interest, and maybe if someone like CustomMaxima or Cattman shows some willingness to carry the product, we could get results.

Not an overwhelming response so far, but it seems so far there is more interest in this type of grille than the Trenz style. Better than stock for keeping bugs off the radiator in summer too, I'd bet! Keep those votes coming - I plan to call Grill Craft this coming week and better numbers would be nice. If only 12 of 10,000 members are interested, that's .12%, hardly something to impress them with our desire for mods.

Yeah, that's why I'm hoping people will do the poll. If there are any numbers, maybe that will help. Quaife was ready and eager to do business. Too bad other companies aren't so up front. Anyway, I ordered a homemade mesh grill from one of the people on here that does them (there are a couple, I think) and have yet to see it. It's been a few weeks. I assume the professional quality ones would last longer.

I think I know who you order from and you will be waiting a long time for that grill
. To stay on topic I was going to order a bunch of 304SS diamond wire grill mesh and make them for max's. I tried to get a metal place to make them but the Stainless Steel is going to be expensive compared to Aluminum. I just don't know if people are willing to pay more for 304SS.
I haven't been a part of this community for very long but my experience is that a lot of people are interested in these grills. I've seen numerous threads and posts here that support that notion. People are complaining about cutting their hands, bleeding all over their cars, and ending up with ugly poor quality crap. Also seen a lot of debate centered around "so and so hasn't delivered my grill" and "what's the best material for making grills". One look on e-bay and you can see numerous posts for crappy generic grill kits. I think what needs to be done is to post threads in the sections (I.E. X generations, for sale, etc.) steering them to this thread. I just so happened to find this thread by accident. Just some thoughts from someone who prefers good quality stuff for his ride and would like to see this work out. Keep up the good work. We Max drivers need all the aftermarket support we can muster.
Thanks for the feedback. I have posted in the 4th gen board directing people to this poll. I'll go to the others too. Maybe it would help if people posted here what gen they have when they vote so I get a better profile of the interest. That'll also keep the poll in view longer
Plus, I figure lots of folks are doing other things on the weekend, so I hope Sunday night and Monday sees a pickup in voting.

It would sell if they made it in black, not silver. Also if someone could make a nice little nissangtr sign to put in the driver side lower corner that would look raw. Just like the JDM passat grill.

Opinions count!
Only about 15% of those who've looked at this poll voted! Then I go to the 4th gen board, where I posted a notice, and there are threads about people wanting more aftermarket grilles! I hope those folks voted here. If we want to get a manufacturer to consider making an effort for us, it'll probably take more than 24 "yes" votes (though Quaife did agree to do a production of only 25 ... they just had to modify their product to our axles). I'm not going to push this after Monday, because I figure most active people on here will have had a chance to see it by then ...
Talked to Grill Craft this morning
I called Grill Craft's tech line (310-970-0300) and talked to Jerry (Jeff's the other guy). He seemed pretty open to our interest. He said they are behind on developing their products for other cars, in particular BMW and Subaru, and that none of the Nissan products listed (Altima and Frontier) are actually made yet. He said that when they get to Nissan, they will probably do about 10 products and put them on the market at the same time. I asked when, and he said maybe around late summer (keep that in mind!). He pulled up a picture of a '99 Maxima while talking to me and said the lower valence looked easy, but wasn't sure about the bar. I suggested the 95-96 mounted at the same points and didn't have that, and he said as long as the vertical structure was the same it should work. I gave him some info about the different generations. I hope they come through! Meanwhile, feel free to add votes if you haven't already, just for the record ...
