Was staring at my front end yesterday and i notice sumtin in the bottom opening of the bumper...
Right in the middle of it there is an air channel about 5-6 inches wide with a 1-1.5 inch height that goes under the AC condesor/ Radiator and channels the air toward the middle of the tranny or bottom of the motor possibly where the pre-cat for the front exhaust manifold is ?

What does this do ? what is it supposed to be cooling ?
Does anyone else have it ?

Yeah I have it on my 96. I think only the 95-96's have it. I still can't figure out what that darn thing does. I thought it was a ram air intake for a while

Is there a legit reason for it? i mean i thought it was sorta tranny cooler(ghetto style..) but i was thinkin of tearin it out cuz its in the way of my fogs...expert opinion please, thanks.

My expert opinion...yeah right

Get the factory fogs and install them, then you don't have to worry about it.(Makes the front end look cleaner in my opinion) However if you still want your fogs(diff. strokes for diff. folks), there should not be a problem with removing this because they did away with it on 97+.

I thought it was for the tranny also... maybe it directs air toward the tranny ?
