Just test drove the New G35 and I35

My mom is in the market for a new car. We stopped by the Infiniti Dealer and she first looked at the I35. She drove it and liked it. Although I did notice one thing. When the dealer first pulled out of the lot and to my Surprise he gets on it HARD all the way to Redline butw when it shifted the tranny seemed to slip on the 1st-2nd shift I dunno b/c its brand or the guy didnt give it time to warm up or what but it shouldn't do that. And 255 HP is way too much Power for a Fwd Car. I Could feel the wheels slip a little when she pulled into the dealership. And my Dad completly broke the tires loose a little bit on take off. But A ornage light came on the dash. SLP?? I guess thats some kind of traction control. You Maxima guys have this too?
My dad really likes the Styling of the G35 But we drove it and its lack of features and amenties compared to the I35 didn't seem to keep him. Plus hes used his GS300.
I'm really trying to talk them Into the Q45 though hehe.. But I don't think it will happen...

My parents are looking for a new car too. I am slowly steering them from an Acura toward a I35, and then a G35. My mom already said she likes how the G35 looks.

Yeah they really Like the Styling of the G35 And Performance. Have you drove/ridden in one yet? It feels Like a 3 Series BMW and Performs like one too. Since its RWD. Until like the I35 My dad said with all that power being FWD it wanted to bring that steering wheel straight in a heartbeat.

I30 & G35

I have the I30 and recently drove the G35. I would tell your folks to go with the G35. It has much better handling than the I30/35 and a more sporty feel.

Lack of features and amenities!? I drove one 2 weeks ago. You must have driven one with no options. A loaded G35 has everything and more than an I35.

The tranny slipping when absolutely FLOORING the car is plain stupid for anyone to do on a cold vehicle. I doubt you should be concerned.

The orange SLP light means the traction control is engaging and using a combination of braking and retarding engine timing. This light shouldn't come on under NORMAL driving, which it doesn't sound like your Dad does.

255 ponies isn't too much for a FWD car. That was once valid but is now myth.

255hp isnt too much but, traction control should be standard on a FWD car with this much power and torque!
