Can i beat a BMW?

my friend has a 328i -not to be mistaken with the slow 325. im thinking it has 190 hp from what my friend said. he has stock auto, i have auto with intake and y-pipe. i raced him once but i mislaunched and he beat me. anyone race/know how the 328 will fair against my car(or with my similar mods)?

It will be a very close race...

With a Y-pipe and intake you are evenly matched with the 328i. Launch properly this time and you might win. And BTW the 325i is not "slow", it only has 6hp less than the 328i.

I thought the 325 had 175, that's around 15 less than the 328. The 328 in manual form is a legit sub 7-sec 0-60 car. I think a manual would be noticably quicker than a Max auto imho. Dont mistake a 325i with a 4cyl Altima, HP numbers are not everything.

I am talking about the E46 325i. I believe it has 184hp. Which is about 6hp less than the 328i like I said.

Motor Trend tested a 5-spd 2000 BMW 328i Sport:
0-60 MpH: 6.9 seconds
1/4 mile: 15.2 sec @ 92 MpH

irregula said his friend's car is auto, so I don't think he'll have a problem at all.

My bad, you're right, it's 184. I've never driven a 325 but I've driven a 323 and it's a lot quicker than the hp figure would imply. I think the 323 is 170 hp.
