It was designed to fit in stock 97 to 99 SE wheels....

It still is not confirmed with certainty if you could buy 300Z calipers and them clear the wheel as well.......

I believe the kit was supposed to fit stock wheels, but I talked with Brian while he was still working on the test brackets. I already did my brake upgrade for a while, but if the kit does fit stock SE wheels it would be a nice kit.

Does this kit from them (the non stock caliper one) fit our stock wheels as well?

I had a few other questions, if any one knows the answers. Does this kit include all 4 rotors or just the fronts or something like that?

Is the difference between this kit and the one for almost $1000 just the calipers?
Do they really make that much of a difference if the stock ones were used as far as braking goes?
If so I wonder if I could get this kit for now for just the $450 and then upgrade the calipers in a month or something like that?

If anyone knows any of these thanks.

The 'new products' one is PROBABLY for the fronts only and would include just the brackets and new rotors. They should fit the stock rims... Call or email Brian Hasty for additional details as he would be the only one to be able to answer your questions accurately.

The $975 kit would also include the (two) 4 piston superlite calipers and the wider version (1.25") rotors.

Chunger while we're on the topic are the brake lines different than stock lines? I already have SS lines so I wouldn't need the lines if they are the same. Also I was under the impression that the kit didn't clear SE wheels, which was one of my concerns when I did my brake upgrade. Finally, how much did the kit affect pedal feel? I plan on doing a better brake upgrade one day, but at this point other mods have priority.

The description is a little vague. Here's what you get:

(2) 12.2" front rotors
(2) new caliper mounting brackets to accommodate the larger rotors.

That's it as far as I know.

Benefits:

Since the stock front rotor size is 10.8", the 12.2" rotor will move out the radius on the caliper thus providing more torque on the brake system to slow the max down........this will minimize warpage as well as there will be more surface area to disperse the heat from friction caused by the pads on the rotor surface.

Your brakes will work better and last longer.

You still get to use "standard" size pads for your Max instead of hunting for "special" pads for the Wilwood calipers, where choices are VERY limited.

In addition, should the 300Z calipers mount in the same fashion as stock Maxima calipers (a guinea pig will have to confirm or deny this), then you get 300Z calipers with a buttload of pad choices on 12.2" rotors for your Maxima. Thus maximizing your brake options and still staying relatively stock....

What about a rear system? I emailed Wildwood about a rear system and they said they would foward my info to R & D. I want to redo all around.

LOL... I'm getting so impatient that I started looking up part# on Wilwood rotors for the rears. 12" X 0.38" Just need brackets and hats machined. If it not done by summer, I'm gonna go hunting for a machine shot... I have a few in mind already.

xHypex - the 4 piston kit comes with an adaptor to use stock lines so you should be able to reuse your SS BLs.

Someone told me that the Wilwood Superlite calipers don't have dust seals... Chunger would you like to confirm or deny this for me?

Confirm... no outer dust seals... no big if you check them and rebuild them if needed... supposedly a simply and cheap process (if not messy with the brake fluid) although I haven't had to do it yet.

When looking at the piston where it would push against a brake pad in the caliper, it is an outer "rubber edge" or seal that keeps dirt, etc. from surrounding the outside of the piston thus minimizing the possibility of dirt and crap getting stuck in between the piston and the wall surrounding it. A good lodge of something could prevent the piston from fully extending or preforming as expected.
