spring question?
spring question?
I am planning on getting some sprint springs for my 2001 AE max...I have eibachs but i really want to get rid of the wheel gap in the front.....the sprints drop 2" all around....how do yall think that will look on my car...will it get rid of all the gap?...(i also have 2 12's in the trunk)...I also want to get the kyb's to go with the sprints....how will the ride quality be?...AND ONE MORE THING.....will i need a camber kit?.
ur help is appreciated

I think the Sprints will get rid of almost all your wheel gap, if not all of it. With the Sprint/KYB combo your ride will be pretty harsh considering the amount of drop and the type of struts you are putting in. But, you'll love the increased handleing. No, a camber kit is not necessary.

Go for it guy and get some Konis adjustables since they come with lifetime warranty or be bias and get the good KYBS everyone gets (1 year warranty) and your ride will be just fine, especially if the road conditions are good i.e.. no potholes. I am riding on cut springs and adjustable Konis it rides just as good as stock. Maximas are not trucks when you lower trucks you ride on a brick our cars can be lowered up to 2 inches and your ride is fine, I can vouch for that and so can Mike (Cumalot) he as sprints and adjustables. You are like me no wheel gap I hate that it looks nasty, your car will look nice trust me on that one.

hey jamie.. how do you have your koni's set (i hope you havent been asked this 1000 times), and do i have to remove the entire rear assembly to adjust them.. i cant stand asking stupid questions, but its 130am so i can justify it?
just cut your eibachs, and get konis.

I dont know if dude replied to my thread with the rolled eyes but I dont live in Florida I live in pothole kingdom new orleans loiuisiana, anyways to answer this rear koni adjustable question, if you go to the track then get the KYBS since you can tighten the shock all the way from the outside, as for the konis you have to stick an allen wrench on the top of the rear koni shock compress it all the way down upside down and you can twist the shock two full 360 degree turns and another 180 turn for a total of 2.5 turns, and thats how you adjust them. Heck if your not mechanically inclined get KYBs and enjoy life, Ill jump on the KYB wagon as well then.

Re: spring question?
OOOh to answer the guys question about KYBs, I rode in Mardigras Max and he has KYB adjustables they ride fine as long as you have the rebound of the shock adjusted to ride soft. Adjustable shocks control the rebound of the rod, if it comes up fast you get a nice soft ride, if you tighten the rod it will come up very slow giving your car a lower stance while driving therefor giving you a stiffer ride and better handling. If you have money issues just go with the KYBS adjustables you cant go wrong. If your not mechanically inclined dont even bother with the Konis.
