door pillar glue..NOT coming off!!??

ok, im getting frustrated, i obviously didnt heat up the vinyl strip nearly as much as i was supposed to and there is a ton of glue left, pretty thick, i can only see about 1/8 paint on the front driver's side door pillar, so ive been reading goo gone works great, well i go get this goo gone, its not doing anything, i followed the directions a few times, i modified the directions to try various things, i heated up with high dryer and tried, nothing, i have made no progress in well over an hour straight of work on it...if someone can tell me something to do (dont say eraser tool on buffer..im gonna try that next weekend if nothing else works) please please help me out
Thanks,
Tom

I just did one of the 4 windows on my 02 yesterday. It sure was a pian in the **** to do, I used my heat gun on the second setting which is around 800 F, make sure you just hold it there for only a second becuase it will melt your paint. After a second or two I just rubbed the glue off with my fingers, I got a bunch of blisters on fingers but the glue did come off Also the damn vinyle got stuck on the edges were it broke off, it was a real PITA cleaning up the edges. I wish i new a way to remove the trim so I could get at it better

If you use a hair dryer you can hold it there as long as you want and not worry about damaging the paint (I think). Acetone and starting fluid are two of my favorite solvents, but I take no resposibility for you paint if you try them. I used some starting fluid to get the glue from a dealer sticker of my trunk and it worked great, but I only had it on there for a few seconds.
