Sky Lines!!!!
I heard that Nissan on the ORG. that they are gona make SKY LINES. Not the kit for the Max, but the car. In America, is this true. I want to be sure cause I just came out of the Basic Training, and have 10,000 bones to blow on somethin. If they are gona make them then thats what its gona be.

Dude, the way you say it i can very well just reword it as saying:
"The Skyline is the ugly slower sister of Skyline".
"The Skyline is the ugly slower sister of Skyline".

Save your 10 grand and wait until you get stationed and settled first...then consider how far into a car purchase you want to go...and I can tell you it will be tough on insurance...Good Luck and Happy Motoring.

If you look at the Skyline 350 GT-8 in Japan it's the same exact model, specs and look as the G35 here in the US. The only difference is they offer it with a 2.5L V6 as well.
The Maxima in the US is the only style of Maxima in the world. Elsewhere the I35 we have here in the US is also known as the Maxima.
Blame it on Nissan for jumbling up things

I just mad we don't get the NISSAN SKYLINE R-34 GT-R over here Which I love alot alot alot more than this G35/Skyline. I don't care that it has the same platform or whatever I want the style and power of the skyline in japan we all know and want.

Au contraire, check out GTR_Rider's post earlier in this thread. That's coming to the US for sure.
But i have to agree with most everyone who's seen the concept, the R34 looks waaaaayyy better than this so-called GT-R Concept.

School me!
Hey, I hear everyone saying that the G35 and skyline are twins, but if you look at a g35 coupe and a 2003 z car, they look amazingly similar, esp side profile.
Both have 3.5 engines, the g35 has 280hp @ 6,200 RPM and 270 lb-ft @ 4,800 RPM, the z has 287 hp @ 6,200 rpm and 274 lb-ft @ 4,800 rpm.
They both have 6 spd m/t or 5 spd a/t (though I saw no big details on tranny type on the site, so I assume hey are very similar).
I saw the new skyline articles, but is that concept definate? For concreteness, the z and g35 look closer to me.
How is the g35 not the 3.5l engine z sister car, but it is the 2.6l engine skyline sister. Are they all one big family? I don't get it, and I couldn't find enough info elsewhere to clue me in.

the G35 is the skyline. In america it wears an infiniti badge. Japan doesn't have infiniti. R34 refers to Skyline GTR. The next Skyline GTR would be an R35 but they don't make that...at least not yet
The Sydney Morning Herald
"Used examples from Japan are still popular imports in Australia - and now
there is a new Nissan GT-R on the horizon. Nissan Australia has abandoned
its earlier stand and is very keen to bring the all-wheel-drive super
sportster here. The new GT-R to go on sale internationally in 2004 will draw
heavily on the Skyline concept shown at the 2001 Tokyo motor show. The
production car is expected to appear at next year's Tokyo show."
and heres a picture of a skyline sedan in Japan (notice the nissan emblem)

skyline R35
I have seen in quite a few magazines and movies and such, that Nissan has a concept skyline r35 which they say will be out within the next few years and will be in America as well. I will see if I can find some more info but it is in the first mischief movie if anyone saw that.

Infiniti=Nissan. C'mon guys... I thought everyone here knew that. The only reason Infiniti was created was to give the American public a status symbol that says "I didn't JUST buy a Nissan". American car buyers typically don't understand that one company can build reasonably priced cars (ie: Sentra), and also produce a $50,000 supercar (ie: Skyline), so car companies creat "Luxury Divisions" (Acura=Honda, Lexus=Toyota, etc...). In Japan, there is no such misconception, and people are comfortable buying many different levels of vehicles from the same manufacturer. Infiniti is nothing more than a name here in the US. Since the Skyline will be a high-priced vehicle, odds are that it will be an Infiniti when it comes, but IT'S STILL A NISSAN!
On another note, letters represent the body designation, and numbers represent the "generation" (ie: 5th gen Max=A33).
Therefore, the "GTR Concept"=R35 Skyline. The G35 Infiniti is offered with a different engine and somewhat different trim levels in the US than it's Skyline brother in Japan, but it's still the same designation. The R35 Skyline may very well come with the VQ35 as the base engine, but my money says the the GTR VSpec will see a forced induction engine of some other displacement.

Another thing people don't realize is that the GT-R...
Is just one particular trim level of the Skyline. Most of the other previous Skylines(R32-R34) were either family sedans or luxury coupes. Trim levels included the GT-S, GT-St, and GTS-4. A relatively small number(in comparision) of the Skylines sold were actually the GT-Rs everyone here knows.
The Infiniti G35 is the USDM version of the V35 Skyline in Japan. No, the Skyline is not the GT-R. As gtr rider's link showed, the GT-R will be a separate marque.
Btw, the 350Z, G35, G35 Coupe, V35 Skyline, and the upcoming GT-R are all based on the same FM platform. The similarities between the 350Z, G35 Coupe, and GT-R should be especially obvious.
I said it before, but Nissan can't afford to drop the ball on this one, like they did with the 3rd gen Max.
