New Tires for 91' Max
I need to get new tires for my 91 maxima, and I am wondering what brand/model are some good ones for 15" rims. I want soem good performance/handling...But I also need it to be snow/rain capable. My tires now are loud for some reason is that because they aren't very wide? What sizes are good? ex 225/50 Will any 15" tire fit a 15x7.5 rim, because those are the new ones I am getting. If you know the asnwers to any of these questions please email me.
Thanks,

You're probably best off to get a wheel and tire package. Tire size depends on wheel size. Stock wheel size is 205/65. On the stock wheels you could fit 215/60, but I wouldn't go any lower profile than that, or any wider. Wider get's unsafe, lower profile is going to majorly screw up your speedo and increase wheel gap. So, if you want to buy tires for an aftermarket 15x7.5 wheel, you probably won't want to put them on the stock wheels. Why not get a 16" wheel? On a 15x7.5 rim you could fit wider than 225, the problem is going to come in the profile. 50 series on a 15" wheel will still throw the speedo off a lot, you'll need to get it calibrated, and you're going to have a ton of wheel gap unless you car is lowered. But, a 16" rim with 50 series will only be a few mph off at freeway speeds and won't look so bad...
As for the tires, I'd suggest Dunlop SP5000's. They're all season ultra high performance. They don't handle as well as a dedicated summer performance tire, but they're a lot quieiter, ride very nicely, and also have sipes cut into them for snow traction.
Hmm...well most guys like to get wheels that are larger than the stock 15"s but since you already have them, I'd recommend Toyo Proxes H4 which I have on my 91GXE. These are not fancy tires but are a good reliable long lasting tire that do well in all forms of weather and are not too expensive.
FWIW, y'all should keep in mind that the tread pattern on Dunlop SP5000's, which I have on my 95, changes between 50 series and 60 series. Follow the pic link in my sig for the 225/50's or just go to http://www.tirerack.com for a picture of both types. A different tread design would perform differently so it's hard for me to say that SP5K's would perform like mine unless you were buying the same size. That said, I'm very happy with the true all-season performance of my SP5K's.
