How much to trim AGX bumpstops?

For those using bumpstops with AGX struts, how much did you trim off the front and rear with lowered springs? AGX says one can do 1/3 to 1/2 off with a 1-1/2" drop. Is it necessary, and if so, what differences in trimming between front and rear struts?

I don't think the front's need to be trimmed. But I did cut the rears about 2/3's off. Afterwards, I thought 1/2 would have been fine, thought I would have had to compress the springs more to get the top nut on. I don't think bumpstops would really ever hit the base of the strut, but oh well. I did if for convienence and fitment.

How far are you dropped? My Intrax springs are damn close to a 2" drop. I had to trim over 60% of my bump stops, front and rear, to get a good ride. I've only got about 1.5" of upwards wheel travel until the strut hits the stop.

I'm going back to a more "street" ride since I'm not autocrossing, putting on Progress springs. This should be about a 1.5" drop, maybe a little more. I was wondering how far Kevin's car was dropped for what he said about not trimming the fronts.

As a preliminary report on the Progress springs, here's a comparison to the stock SE springs: Fronts - SE. 15", 5 coils, Progress 14", 7 coils. Rears - SE. 11-3/4", 7 coils, Progress 11.1/4", 10 coils. Mind you, the SE springs have about 65,000 miles on them. The interesting thing is the Progress springs are SOFTER when I first push on them! Of course, how "progressive" they are I cannot tell until they are on the car. It may be that they just take up bumps more easily at the start but firm up well. I did call Progress to ask if these were just lowering springs or for performance and got a qualified "Well, yeah" answer. I'm hoping with the AGX struts they can be tuned to where I like them. These are the same color as the original coilover springs I got from Cattman, and those also had more windings than comparable springs, so I suspect Progress may have been the source on those. I'll just have to run these to see how they do.
