i was going to cut one coil from each of my front eibach springs....i have a 2001 maxima...if i do that how much will my car drop in the front? ALSO..when i went to get it done the guy told me he would do it but im taking a risk of the spring popping out.....or coming loose....is that possible?

thats why if you ask anyone in their right mind they will tell you NOT to cut springs......

 

why not cut them??
AND....
do ground control coilovers suck.....?...how rough are they?

 

The springs will be shorter when you cut them. They could pop out of the rubber isolator when the car is not loaded. ie. when jacking your car up. No big deal..your car would just ride funny and make tons of noise.

 

What would happen if you heat them?

Same thing. It will get shorter and you also compromise the integrity of the spring. I don't know..maybe 10 years down the road, the springs will snap in half.
