Redline MT prone to leak?

I read one one of the writeups about Redline MT90 that since it was a synthetic oil, it was very slowly leaking out of the transmission case (it wasn't leaking enough to drip). I was wondering if this was a common problem? Or is it something I shouldn't bother worrying about?

I was thinking about replacing my transmission oil in a month or so..

I have had mine in since October or so. I have had no leaks and I am not low at all. I see no problem with it. I remember the write up and it made me nervous but so far so good.

Don't believe everything you read... sometimes things just occur cuz they're getting old and it could be a coincidence.

I've been using Redline MTL for the time my car had about 6K miles... I now have almost 45K... I haven't had any leaks (even with 1 MTL change).

I'm planning on changing my manual transmission oil to RedLine in my 2Y2 SE but when I pulled up their site, I wasn't sure which product and how much to buy. Any help please.

The 2Ks and 2K1s use MT-90. I'm pretty sure the 2K2s use the same thing. But check your owner's manual if you want to be certain.

I've used MT-90 for about 20K miles and my tranny hasn't leaked yet. And yes, it shifts great.

Synthetic

is generally thinner, so some do not recommend it in older cars. However in a well made Nissan it shouldn't be a problem. Now it was a problem when I put it in my Wife's 80,000 mile 98 Durango, damn should have bought an import.

The 2K2 uses MT 90, which is a 75W90, this is what is called for in the owners manual. I changed mine in my 2K2 and it works great! The redline MTL is a little bit thinner(70W85). I would stay with the same weight as the owners manual calls for.

I made the switch to redline at 90,000 miles. I hate myself for not doing it sooner. I changed the engine oil a couple days ago and I noticed no signs of any leaks or weeping from the transmission.

If I change my tranny fluid, where can I dispose of it? A local auto parts store takes engine oil, but I forgot to ask them if they take other fluids.

I find it very odd that the newer technology 6 speed only holds 3 quarts of tranny fluid, if that, yet my older generation 5 speed holds 4.5 quarts. Of course my tranny has a history of bad bearings issues and the 6 speed is still too new. Hmmmmmmm.
