I'm not meant to have wheels...long....

As some of you know I ordered a set of Konig Imagines 18x8.5 and 245/40 Yok/AVSs...

Well after two weeks of waiting, the shop called me to come and have my rims installed, hell yeah so I left work early. When I get there I drove my car right into the bay and the guys started taking my old wheels off.

I looked at the new wheels with a big smile, but then noticed that the sidwalls were were bedning over a bit. I thought nothing of until I was standing at the counter to pay and I look at the owners sweet silver G35 with 18" BBSs and the same size tires but the sideall was not bending over.

I asked him how wide his wheels were and he said 8". umm my wheels were wider by 1/2" but didn't look as good *** that. I asked him what size mine were and he said 8" then looked that the invoice and then said 7.5
Damn, I said I ordered 18x8.5 and he looked at the deposit slip and was very puzzeled.

Anyhow I don't want this to be a novel, the owner gave me my deposit back without any quams, but man now I don't have the wheels I've been waiting so long for. The owner said he can't get any estimate on how long it would take to order the size I want.

He did say he had some replica Hamann PG2s in the size I want but I am not sure about these "fake" wheels. Has anyone heard of Fast Co Oxygen
Fast Co Oxygen wheels?

I've emailed Discount Tire to see how fast they can ship the Konigs in the size I wanted.

konig makes knock-off rims to begin with. knock-off hamanns cant be any lower in quality than konig.

Ummm I think hes already bummed out enough....Konig makes a decent wheel for the price, what can you expect for around a grand- wheels and tires??. I have konig and believe me if I could have afforded Volk I would have Volk and not my "low quality knock off konigs"

i never said or meant to say they were low quality. seriously. what i meant to say is that konigs desigs are knockoffs of other expensive rims, and since konigs arent bad, i dont see how the hamann knockoffs could be bad. yea, now that i reread my post, it does sound like im konig bashing.

I think they are exclusive to BMW, besides I am not interested in paying $1000 per wheel, it's just a Maxima not an M5.

This is a good lesson for people trying to jam on the right size tire on the wrong width rim. Sorry to hear of your problems, you ordered the right combination. I know i was looking at the centerline wheels in 19, but as soon as i found out it only came in 7.5 wide i said forget it.

Yeah, I bet tire shop owners wish they had $10 each time a car came in with wrong +1 or +2 rims/tires, wrong offset, etc. When I got my wheels aligned the guy made a comment "your wheels are the right +2." he said you wouldn't believe how many times people drive in and it's wrong. Probably overly aggressive sellers so I guess we'll always have to do our own homework

Just think what tire shops are willing to mount on a stock 6.5" rim (4th gen) they may as well advertise a tire package called "crazy combo"

I have 18x7.5 TSW's.

Is there something wrong with having 225/45's and 18x7.5?

Hmm..the profile is wrong for sure. You should've aleast get 225/40 or you could push it a bit and get 235/40. The ideal 18" combo is 18X8 40mm offset with 235/40/ZR18 tires.
