ran with a BMW M3, suprised i kept up

no joke. my friend had a v-6 camaro, caught the real performance buzz and landed himself a 95 m3. so we knew the showdown was coming. everybody was saying the m3 was going to eat me. he even dynoed before we raced (a few weeks earlier) and put down like 212 or 216 hp. anyway i even admitted he would beat me. one day he asked me if i wanted to drive it and i was like hell yeah. first light i revved it to like 3 or 4 and dropped the clutch. got the tires to bark a little and rowed it through 1 the gears. i wasnt that impressed but hey it was quick. next light i revved to like 5 grand and dropped it : hello RWD ! at first we just sat there then i heard the tires squealing and it broke sideways i was like wwhhooooaa !! spun'em all the way through 1st and chirped 2nd.

a few days later we end up on a two lane side by side. i thought he would roast me. we nail it in 2nd and I KEPT UP. we were side by side the whole time until the very top of 4th (for both of us) then he started to pull slowly. we did it like 10 times and had the same results. all rolling. we did one from a stop and i pulled on him but we had to slow down.

defitnetly suprised. no longer will i fear the mighty M car from germany. well at least my friends.

Run with a 01+ M3, it will smoke you like you smoke Geo Metros from a redlight.

I've ran against an older E36? 95-99 M3. Toolrocks and I and Seoh02max all played with him coming back from the track one night. We passed him when he was just cruising, then he came back a little while later. We took it up to about 120-125 when we ran into some traffic. It makes you feel good, that you can run with those kinds of cars. As someone posted, thats not a good a race if you are rolling up on an 01-02 M3.

Real life is not like a casino where the odds are designed against you. ex, you bet on sports, odds factor in and the favored has to cover a spread.

Do the same thing with the E46 M3 and I'll bet on you to beat it.

What kind of bunk is it to challenge a Maxima with a new M3. Put some odds on it and it gets interesting when the M3's title changes hands!

In all seriousness, I'd never run anyone for $$ or better yet for a title change. I'd only run someone for fun.
