Best way to launch a 5 spd?...

I have limited experience in performance oriented 5 speed driving. I seem to get by far the best response if I rev to around 1.8K-2K RPM and gently drop the clutch but I still feel like I'm abusing the car when I do that. Also, my shifter feels pretty notchy at times and I'm doing my fluid change around the end of may.

I'm looking for any general tips, especially techniques from people who squeeze out 14.8 in the quarter from a 4th gen 5 spd( The Blue, Nealoc, Briguymax).

i would also like to know do this better. I'm converting to 5 speed soon and my friend told me it's not something u learn right away, every car has it's own different feeling clutch, after time, u feel when it meets and after a few weeks of practicing and driving and getting used to your car, soon you'll be able to jump the gun....practice makes perfect...just keep trying to let go of clutch exact same time u press gas...i really don't think that hearts the clutch, just makes u look real dumb in the middle of traffic and might mess up axles or something (which i also doubt) but if you desperately want to learn this, u have to keep practicing...not some special technique...

that's why i love 5 speed...UNLIKE auto***got, there is always room for improvement...never gets boring....can't wait for conversion!
