Nos switch question

Ok I was talking this over with JAIMECBR900 & bosco500. Tell me what you guys think. I wanted to hook up a switch but not just any switch, but one with a key. What I want this switch to do is, if the key is not turned on the arming switch is dead. In order to use the system you have to have the key in the arm poisons and then use the arming switch. Any thoughts on if this is possible & how I can hook it up.

Just hook it up in place of the present switch or put it in series with it so both have to be on to arm it.
You could also hook it in series with the throttle switch but the present arming switch is already in the interior of the car so it would be easier than running another pair of wires in.
Not sure where you would get a key switch but I'm sure they are available.

yeah.. its pretty simple.. the key switch has the same inputs as the regular toggle switch..

Power / Activated / Negative

just hook up the wires the same way..

personally i think a key is very tacky

Tacky? I have run into problems in the past...like the one where I purposely turn my system off and get the car back half block away turn on the radio and there is a CD playing that not mine, bass turn up!

It sounds good in theory, but if you think about it hard enough, the only key switches out there are very big and ugly. There are no clean ones that would go good, yet alone something you want to show off. If you want a unique switch, just find a regular single throw, single pull switch that looks different from the rest. Just make sure it has "three prongs" (like Sprint said) b/c two will NOT work. Good luck.

Actually a two pin switch will work just fine. The only reason the cheezy switch that comes with the kit has three is to provide a ground to light up the switch. They are a cheap $.95 cent switch and should be replaced with a quality one anyway.
