First off, will the 168 size bulbs fit in the OEM opening? I thought it was 194 or 196 for the sidemarkers.

Also, what color light will these bulbs produce? I'm looking for a bulb that is white, but with a somewhat bluish tint for this location.

Thanks,
-Nick

the PIAA Xtreme White 168 is what you use. these are probably what you are looking for because they are white with a blue-ish tint to them. actually, they look a tad blue from up close. if you're interested, i have like brand new 168 for sale. i bought them, put them in to see what color they emitted, and it wasn't really my taste, so i took them out. they are still in the original packaging and used only once. PM or email me.

You wouldn't by any chance have a pic of them in? Or be able to pop them back in and take a picture? I'd like to see the color that they emit. I've been searching for pics, but haven't been successful in finding any for these bulbs.

Thanks,
-Nick

I've almost never seen pics do true justice to the color of bulbs.

that is true. i've attempted to take pictures of the Xtremes before, but the ending result was a yellowish color in the picture...

found an old picture of the Xtremes. the headlights are not PIAA Xtreme, but everything else is. hope this helps a bit.

Just for the fun of it, I''m throwing you a pic of Polarg clearance (non-rewired) with Silverstar 9004s versus stock halogens.

Obviously, the Silverstars are not THAT white in person but it definitely is an improvement ... also a bit brighter.

That's exactly what I'm looking for! What kind of bulbs are in the turn signals?

Maybe I should upgrade to the DC clears.

DC clears will look good on your '97 maxima. i have the PIAA Xtreme Whites in the turn signals. i'll sell the 168 to you if you're still interested. they're just collecting dust under my bed.

Polargs
Excellent! Thanks for posting those pics. I really didn't want to rewire my clearance lights because they're too bright to be on all the time. The Polargs look just bright enough to make 'em worthwhile. I take it those are the 21/8w 1157's?

168 = 194, pretty much. I almost got PIAA 168's, but had heard they were a bit on the blue side. I wonder if they'd work out well for gauge bulbs though...

Yes, they're Polarg 1157s, same wattage as stock.

In the non-rewired setting, it is a bit dim (MUCH better than stock) but in the rewired setting, it's too bright.

So I left it in the dim setting. I've also got a pic in the bright setting, if you want it, I can e-mail it you you.

How much do you want for them? Are they brand new?
