6th Gen Maxima to look like the G35

I got word from a dealership back in Florida that the 6th Gen. Maxima is going to look like the 2003 G35. He said it was in fact supposed to be rwd and have around 270hp. This may be bull****, but if it's not it would answer alot of complaints about the current Maxima. Also he said that the Titanium edition Maxima coming out is nothing more than a color not a package. Well I thought I would just pass on the info true or not. What do you guys think?

It's all true. The 2004 Max is gonna have a V8, RWD, and is gonna be a whale. Say goodbye to the sports sedan they introduced in 1995, and say hello to avalon-like big luxary car. My grampa will probubly get one.

BTW, Did you go to Bill Ray nissan on 17-92? That guy John Wright is always tryin' to get me to join his Import club

It will have to be in late October or early November because i'm not taking leave this summer. So that may benefit you since it will be a little chilly outside and you'll probably need all the help you can get....lol. By the way what to you have done to your car?

1BADMAX, D'oh, I forgot your active duty..mods? Too many to list, but I will list my peformance, and what i'll have by the time you get back.

1)Cattman Cold Air induction
2)Y-Pipe
3)Custom B-pipe, no resonation
4)Flowmaster duals

By the time you get back I SHOULD have

1)5spd implant w/STS
2)Headers (Maybe)

That is if Charles ever gets back to me about the 5spd

My car pulls unbelievably hard around 30mph when I floor it, It snaps my neck back violently. Sometimes it makes me wonder if converting 5spd could actually make me any faster when it's already like this.

Well I plan to get y-pipe, intake, udp and maybe an exhaust as soon as I get back, so hopefully we'll be more evenly matched. By the way what is your best 1/4mile and yes i know it's better than my pathetic run's.

Never ran, closest track to me is Bithlo, remember i'm in Lake Mary.

If the track did REAL 0-60's, and not the GTECH kind, I'd get somewhere around a 7, and low 15's in the 1/4th.

If I could start from a roll, while holding in first gear, starting at around 3.6-4.2k rpms and at 15mph, I could probubly get to 60 in under 4 seconds...or at least that's what it feels like. I do this everytime I leave school and break loose onto the road.

I look down at my speedo about 2 seconds after I floor it, right after I shift into second, and i'm already at 50mph

BTW, 1BADMAX, Get a CAI and Y-pipe combo at first...you will feel that Y-pipe's torque just pull you hard around cruising speeds, and the CAI's dragon like snarl is soo loud it sounds scary. WAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

I said this a while back and posted a picture, Bill99GXE will remember this, and no one believed me. Of course when the car comes out then usually everyone believes me. My sources I got that info from are usually not wrong.

OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!! does this thread occur with every lunar Eclipse or something...this must be the 156,845 thread saying "my sources said..."; "well my sources said..."; "well the bum who used to live behind the Nissan plant told me..."; "well my sister who sleeping with the service tech and the secretary told me..."

can't we all just wait happily for Nissan to tell us!

That's the Infinity G35. Since they don't have Infiniti in Japan, ofcourse it's going to have a Nissan badge.

That is NOT A MAXIMA, nor will it ever be. Remember Infiniti does not exist in Japan, our Infiniti G35 is called the Nissan Skyline (not the GT-R) in Japan.

Nissan Skyline in Japan = Infiniti G35 in North America

Craig: Where exactly does a 5-speed implant go? Does it affect how fast you walk? or can you vary the speed that you talk at. Do they have to operate or is it some kind of insert that goes in your arm...

OH, you meant TRANSPLANT ok.

Oh geez, must we discuss this every week?

We've already done this once:

http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....ht=Japan+plate

My offer to buy Russ one if it really looks like that still stands. And I will pay cash for it so he knows what it's like to not finance a car.

That's how confident I am the next Max WON'T look like a G35 or the picture(s) that keep floating around.....

Yea, the nissan dealer told me the same thing about the new maxima, and that it would be touching $40,000 +. What ever happend to the affordable, very fast, four door family sedan? I am kinda dissapointed in nissan for what they did to the max. Its no longer a a sleeper sports sedan but now its just like every other Audi Bmw Mercedes and Lexus. A while back I did some investagating and found out that u could not touch a maximas performance, looks, and realibilty for under $45,000. Say goodbye to an AFFORDABLE sports sedan.

I talked to the owner of my local nissan dealership a few days ago. This guy is really into racing and fixing nissans up, he's a great guy to talk to. Anyways he said nissan is not releasing any info on the 2004(really a 2003) maxima, in his words nissan is being tight lipped about it.
